Is it wrong to say I feel happy today and was almost skipping out of hospital? I had my results and the cancer has been contained in one breast and lymph - no spread. Everyone on here said you feel better/calmer once you know what you are fighting and have a plan and I do. The scan showed that there is another 5mm lump in the breast. They tried to take biopsy of that one today but couldn't find it on ultrasound. So hospital have given me a choice of going to London to a specialist MRI place that can indicate whether the second lump is benign or cancerous. If it is benign I would not need a masectomy. However, I don't think I can take any more tests and waiting so I would rather they just do a masectomy and chemo. My OH is fully supportive of this decision I think I shocked my surgeon with my matter of fact decisions. But I am a such a worrier, for me the best decision is a masectomy. I have two young children so my only concern is being alive to see them grow up. My BCN said she will call me tomorrow as they want me to sleep on it. Any ladies had a masectomy - what is the recovery time like? How did you find it? For now I am taking the little bit of good news that it hadn't spread and going to enjoy a glass of wine.

Vodka sounds good. Where I live they do all the scans first then from the results sort out a treatment plan. Today at 4pm is my results appt. I'm a wreck thinking it spread, but hoping to feel calmer once I get a plan. I an 40 so it's going to be chemo. I'll be having a glass of red about same time you have your vodka Lena - chin chin !!!

I have two young children (5 and 3) so had to put on a front during the day. My husband not coping as well as me and I hope he can once we get the results and a firm plan. My lump was only 8mm but it has gone to lymph so I'm looking at surgery and chemo. My appt not till 4pm so by then I'll be a jibbering wreck!!!!! Good luck next fri. Hopefully we will all feel calmer once we doing something about this pesky thing inside us x

Got my appt tomorrow afternoon to get results of ct, MRI and bone scan. I was diagnosed on 4 march with cancerous small lump but also some cells in the lymph. Where I live they do all the scans then come up with the plan. I've hated the waiting but am so nervous about tomorrow's appt as so scared if has spread elsewhere. Finding it all overwhelming today. I hope all you other ladies are hanging on in there as best you can x

My appt for results just landed on the doorstep and it's this coming wed . I suppose I should be glad it's all moving along quickly but it's the appt you want but kind of don't want to go to. Made me a bit wobbly- defo getting the wine open tonight!

Thanks Anx56x. I'm still amazed that I feel well but have BC. But emotionally drained so feel tired. I have a 3 and 5 yr old so putting on a front for them, but finding it hard. Glad to hear you are near ending your treatment and thanks for your supportive words x

I'm also waiting results. Where I live they do ct, MRI and bone scan (all of which I've had this week) and now have about a 10 day wait for results. Then they will sort out op/chemo etc. I'm finding it hard to carry on as normal, even though my lump is only 8mm they found few cells in lymph on biopsy so I'm scared it's spread. Everyone says this is the worst part. Guess we all just need to get through it as best we can x

Hi Jules Sorry that you have had to join this group, but you will certainly find great support on here. I was diagnised on 4 march and this week having lots of different scans, then looking at an op and chemo. From what ive seen on here, waiting to know results of the extent of it is the worst part. I'm too worried about chemo, but the ladies on here are quite reassuring on that - some even running between sessions. We are all here for each other as we go through our journeys x

Hi, in having a down day too- it's a week since I was told but feels like months ! Had one scan yest and got another one tomorrow and then waiting for an appt for results. My lump is 8mm but as few cells in nodes I'm scared it's spread. Trying to keep it together but it waves over me and I just want my pre diagnosis life back! I hope we all get our appts and treatment plans soon and we can then get in a good mindset of kicking this into touch and getting our lives back. Virtual hugs to you all x

Hi teacher, I'm having all those scans this week. They have told me as there are a few cells in the lymph, it's routine. I think we are wary because we were reassured we most likely had cysts and then it was BC. It's hard to have faith. X

Hi. I'm similar . After being told only be a cyst I got the news on 4 march the lump was cancer and there's also cells in lymph. I've got all my scans this week. I'm worried it's got time to spread whilst waiting but the doctor said it won't change in two weeks. From what I've seen on this site, this waiting part is the worst . I have two young children (5 and 3) to keep me busy and trying to stay positive but sometimes it just waves over you. Be kind to yourself - it's ok to have a cry. I hope you get your scan dates through soon so you are not in the waiting area too long. Tracey x

Ann and Evs you have inspired me with your determination to enjoy and benefit from exercise during chemo. I too love running and so having read your posts also intend to at least get some good walks in, letting the warm spring /summer days lift our spirits x
