Hi Sarah and Debs, thank you so much for your msgs. Feeling a bit better after reading them. With regards to T, Debs. I didn't feel sick abd actually felt fine for a couple of days after the cycle but then day 3 or 4 started aches and pains which were quiet bad and i felt that the paracetamol and ibuprofen didn't help. Hi ladies, hope you're all doing fine. I had my first T on 21 Oct and the se started from day 3. Really bad muscle/joints pain. A few days later I had a high temp so went to hospital wbc were low, nutrophils were low too. I was only discharged from the hospital on Friday. It was a horrible week or so. I'm feeling better now. My next cycle is next Weds and having the port done same day. Since yesterday I'm feeling a bit down... I read something on the internet where someone says people with triple negative cancer only live for 18months! I know i shouldn't have read it and everyone's situation is different but this is stuck to my head and am so worried and couldn't sleep. I'm planning to ask my onco about survival rate etc once my chemo has finished. Sorry if i sound silly i just wanted to share my worry with all you ladies. Hi Lisalouw and Carolec - thanks for your msgs. I'm having a port which a plastic triangle thing which goes under the skin in the chest area. Appartenly, it's better than picc line as this is discreet with no hanging tubes. My hubby just injected the blood thining injection for me and it was stinging a lot! Onco never mentioned anything to me. I have to bear this for 3 months! I have been told to do hot and cold compress on my eye so will try that. ... View more

Hi all, I'm back from the hospital. Had a vascular scan which turned out to be for my arm where i had the picc line put in. Anyway they said there's a slight blood clot forming in the vein where the line is inserted. Went to see the onco afterwards and was told to start taking blood thining injection from today for 3 months. They will also be removing the picc after the chemo on Weds. Onco has now reffered me to have a port put in as I would still have 2 more chemos to do. With regards to my runny nose, onco said due to no hair in my nose am having a runny nose. She didn't give any medicine. And she thinks I have a sty in my left eye that's why I have a pain and sowelling. Hi Lisalouw, you said you had mastectomy, did your genetics test come back positive? I'm 36 yrs old and been diagnosed with triple negative in July. I had genetics test and it came back negative. So I'll having radio after my chemo. Good luck Bibi. Hope all goes well. I'm meeting my onco tomorrow for pre chemo assessment and I'll have my 4th cycle on Weds for first T. Very nervous about the side effects. Any tips would be appreciated from anyone who has had their first T. My runny nose is really bad now and also my left eye has swollen a bit and it's painful. Hi, sarahd, bibi, Debs, Richelle and everyone. Thank you so much for your kind msgs. I'm starting to feel a bit better now. Can i check if anyone else had a vascular ultrasound before they started their T part? My onco never mentioned it to me but I've got an appointment to get it done on the 19 Oct, same day an meeting the onco for pre chemo assessment. I had an ultrasound this morning on the arm where the picc line is. No blood clot but the arm and underarm area is a bit painful, so have been asked to take paracetamol. Hi ladies, just a quick update. I had 3rd FEC last weds and had really bad side effects.. Felt awful for the whole week and been in bed. I felt more tired/fatigue this time round. Also, was feeling down emotionally as well. I'll be having first T in 2 weeks time. ... View more

Hi Boodles, thanks for the quick and helpful reply. I'm still feeling rubbish and got cold symptoms, runny/blocked nose. I'll ring the chemo nurse to see if they can suggest something over the phone. Hopefully, it's just a common cold and not an infection. ... View more

Hi Boodles, thanks for the update on T part of chemo. Can i pls clarify if the drug calls Doxcetol as well as taxtore? Am a bit confused, the side effect sheet I had from my onco mentions Doxcetol. I'll be having 3cycles of that. With regards to side effects, did you have sickness as well as muscle aches? Would the chemo nurse give painkillers on the day of my chemo? They don't usually let me take any painkillers as they want to keep an eye on the temp. So not sure how this would work. Also, did you feel tired/fatigue after the T cycle? Hi Bev, yes, we must be. I guess we are around same age too? i've had my 3rd/final FEC on Weds. I had severe sickness which got better after an IV at hospital. I have been feeling more tired this time. Wasn't that tired after first two cycles. Emotions are up/down too. I've had picc line put in a day before my 3rd chemo so arm is sore. I'll be moving onto 3xDoxcetol and a bit nervous about the side effects. Hope all goes well with your next chemo. Keep in touch. ... View more

Thanks Sarahd and bibi for your replies. I'm a bit better today. But was in A&E again last night due to swelling in the upper arm where the picc line was put in. The line was only put in on Tuesday and had the chemo through that on Weds. Luckily, no blood clot just a bit bruised and painfull. Have to keep an eye on other symtomps. ... View more

Hi ladies, I had my 3rd Fec on Weds. After my 2nd Fec i vomitted a feq times and went to A&E. This time my onco gave Emend. I took 1 capsule before the chemo started but as soon as i got home, bad nausea started. It got so bad after few hours that i had to go to A&E abd had some anti-sickness through IV. No sickness since yesterday but feeling very tired. My first Docetaxel will start in 3 weeks time. I'm feeling a bit nervous about the side effects. Would be good to hear from you ladies who have had their first Docetaxel and what side effects you experienced. Good luck to everyone for their treatments. ... View more

Hi all, I'm new to this form too. I'm 36 yrs old and was diangnosed in July. Grade 3 Invasive, triple negative. I had lumpectomy in July and lymph nodes were clear. I've had 2 FEC so far, the SE were different both time. I was actually more sick after the 2nd one. I'm also on Filgrastim injections to boost the wbc. My 3rd FEC is due on 30 Sept, so not sure what se to expect. I will also be having 3 T (doxecetol) and very nervous about se. Bibi did you say there's a forum for younger women? Ok, I had my 2nd fec last week, went okish. My hair started to fall out so not going to carry on with the cold cap. With regards to T's SE... I heard you get muscle aches/pain. Did you experience that or anything different? Thanks, I'll look at the monthly thread. ... View more
