Emma Jane first cycle they injected all the chemo from the big syringes straight into the picc line. Second cycle they administered the c part of fec through the syringe driver takes a couple if minutes longer so not a massive difference but made the world of difference to me. I didn't tell them it was just a different nurse with a different way. I will suggest it next time if the nurse doesn't though. ... View more

Hi all. Ali-b I'm on second cycle of fec and all I've done this time is sleep. Spent practically a week in bed just did what my body told me. Been up and about since even to the pub. I had headaches on the first cycle but they administered the chemo slightly different this time and the heads not been anywhere near as fuzzy. Happy easter everyone try and enjoy your chocolate.... Hi ladies. Day 4 of fec 2 and I look and feel like a complete zombie! Se quite minimal this time round but have been given extra antisickness. Not really eating at the minute nothing tastes good. Apart from a pot noodle I fancied the other night! Slept most of today whilst the house was empty. Thanks for your reply sale. I'm feeling great now. Had my first dose two weeks ago and vomited first night just couldn't stop. Saw consultant yest and he said if it's happened once it'll happen again so let's give you other meds to stop it. I have a picc line it's great not being prodded and poked and my mum cleans it for me (trained nurse). I was advised by consultant to go straight for the picc not only because of getting access with a cannula each time it's the damage chemo can do to your veins. I'm not cold capping resigned myself to the fact my hair was going before offered cold cap. Chemos tough enough without having to go through another thing in the hope it 'might' help but no guarantees. Congratulations on your son's exam results lellie and enjoy your bubbles if you can x ... Hi all. Had consultant meeting today and he's changed my antisickness meds after uncontrollable vomiting after 1st fec dose. So that's good. Hairs started falling out today. Can I ask you ladies is it just your hair on your head or head to toe hair that's fallen/falling out? ... View more

Hi Mary. I've just joined the Feb starters. I'm on fec-t 6 cycles then rads then herceptin injections. I too had a lumpectomy and 4 nodes removed end of Jan. Hi all. I just got my chemo dates through and am joining your club next Friday! (The club no-one wants to join) 6 lots of fec-t. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma grade 2 with some dcis no node involvement but her2+ so chemo and 20 radiotherapy sessions. Dcis is ductal carcinoma in situ. It means the cancer cells are inside the milk ducts and haven't yet spread to surrounding tissue. ... View more
