Lesley you poor thing it's sounds very sore. I hope it settles soon. I am having my 11th / 20 tomorrow, boob has a rash but not too sore at the moment. I am plastering on the aveno cream. I am also having a CT scan tomorrow so nervous about that.

Lesley that is brilliant well done what a relief it must be. I had 7/20 today def pinking up nicely. I have not been sleeping with hot flushes and hip pain. I got in a real panic today about my hip pain and spoke to the dr today and am having a bone scan and CT, more waiting for results now .

Lesley you have done so well only 2 to go that's brilliant ! I wish i had held off the tamoxifen until after the rads because I am having such bad nights with the hot sweats the past two nights I have been looking up radiotherapy problems at 2.00 am. I cannot sleep without a fan going constantly now . I have done 5 out of 20 rads boob feeling a bit tender today hope it's not meaning my skin will start to get sore.

I had my 2nd today which was fine but feel totally washed out, really tired and not up for anything other than laying in the bed. I am sure I shouldn't be feeling like this yet. I know you can feel tired at the end as it cumulative but I am just at the beginning. I am not sure if it's everything catching up with me, I am not sleeping that well since tamoxifen and the hot flushes. When did the tiredness kick in for others ?

I did it and was ok. I got a bit upset when I first went in but pulled myself together and laid very still while the machine moved and buzzed. It was quick although I did think I could feel something through my boob but maybe my imagination. I am worried because I have not been moisturising and have got all this new cream to use but the radiographer told me not to use anything that I have not used before.i wish I had tried it out before now. I am worried that I won't moisturising now and my skin will be bad .

Getting myself all organised for the start of radiotherapy on Monday. I am getting myself worried about my lung. At the appoitment the consultant said that the radiotherapy would catch a bit of my lung and this is unavoidable. He told me that I may get a cough with this. I have read posts and spoken to people and nobody else seems to have been told about the catching of the lung. I am wondering if its the position of my tumour - top clevage. Has anyone else been told it will definitly affect the lung?

I went for my planning and tattoos yesterday, which was fine. I was worried about holiday my arms up for a while and getting uncomfortable but it seemed quite quick. I am set to start on the 8th August now. I was just reading a forum in America and they were recommending coconut oil. Has anyone else heard about this. I have a bottle of Aloe vera ready to use.

I have just found out I will be having 4 weeks of radiotherapy including one booster week. I have a holiday booked a barge holiday in the South of France 3 weeks after finishing. I asked the breast care nurse today what she thought and she said she would cancel. I just dont know what to do? I know everyone is different but I am worried that I might still be sore and just not sure how I will be then. I would be grateful for people who have been through the rads to say how they were 3 weeks after finishing? xxx

Hi Its good to hear your friend is doing well. Its the unknown isnt it. I have just heard today that I am starting on the 8th August 4 weeks including a booster week. Lets hope its a piece of cake, that sounds good. x

Charys your GP sounds fab. And how reassuring to have such a thorough check. My twitches are a little better but I felt so rubbish on Friday after being on it for 10 days. I felt just felt so unwell I couldn't move and felt in a mental fog. I decided it was the tamoxifen and I didn't take it Friday night. Saturday I felt like old me again. I have started to cut the tablets in two and have half morning and night. I am so so tired on it and still having loads of hot flushes. I have just ordered a cool sleep pillow from Amazon which was recommended by a friend. I thougt my fan had broken just now and was feeling really panicky at the thought of a night without it.

Hi I have just found out I will be having 4 radiotherapy sessions through August, the last week being a booster week. I am going for my planning next week. I went to see the Radiologist today and he explained lots. He did say they catch a bit of the lung and this can give you a cough. I was also advised about the soreness and tiredness. If anyone else will be having their radiotherapy in August it will be nice to keep in touch and be on the journey with others.

My Brca test took three weeks but they rushed it through because they may have done a double MX if positive and I would not have needed radiotherapy if that was the case. Because the Brca was neg it's all systems go for the radiotherapy . I am a bit worried it's going to be a long time from surgery to radiotherapy now after all these tests I have had .

My Mum has had breast cancer - 13 years ago. She has IDC 2cm grade 2 with grade 3 elements. she had to have a second op as they didn't get clear margins . She had radio no chemo and tamoxifen and she is fine. My grandmother had it she had a mastectomy no other treatment and died of something else aged 93. A lot of females on my mothers side have died of either breast cancer or ovarian. I am seeing the genetics Dr today because he wants to measure my head because there is a condition that connects thyroid and breast cancer ( I had thyroid cancer 16 years ago) this condition gives you a big head ! I have been asking everyone if my head is bigger than average and they all say no ! The rollercoaster continues .

I am 50 just 51 next week. I had a WLE and SNB which was clear. My tumour was 14mm but had DCIS up to 20mm. I am Er + PR + HER2 neg grade 2 on biopsy but upgraded to 3 after WLE. I had my operation on the 19th May under local anaesthetic due to throat problems. I have just started on tamoxifen which is it not that easy as its giving me lots of hot flushes . Seeing the radiologist today to sort out radiotherapy plan. Since my diagnosis I gave had a MRI on back and hip,as I have had really bad hip pain but that was clear. Also had a liver scan which was clear. I am trying to be healthy and not be stressed which is easier said than done with all of this. Debbie what was your oncotype score ?

I have been on tamoxifen for nearly two weeks now. Yesterday horrible sharp womb cramps started, not sure if it's the tamoxifen? Has anyone else experienced this. I had a mirena coil in before BC but had that whipped out sharpish. The oncologist has said I am post menopausal and haven't had a period in the last two months since mirena was removed. I am 50 and before BC was jogging nicely with my HRT patch ( in hindsight probably a big mistake) I was fine and juicy. Now I feel such an old woman, an achy hip which I was really worried about bone mets, had an MRI and its bursitis. I am having such bad sweats through the night I can't sleep. I am so tired during the day probably due to poor nights sleep but also oncologist said tamoxifen can cause tiredness. I am am due to start radiotherapy in a couple of weeks and I know that can make you tired too ! My brain is not functioning as it did. I can't multitask anymore, is this the lack of sleep, tamoxifen or just the huge thing that BC is? I had a WLE SNB - IDC 14mm grade 3 oncotype 20 no chemo. I wonder will I ever feel alright again?

I have been on tamoxifen for a week now and have been have the twitching in my leg and foot. I asked the oncologist today but he didn't seem to think it's connected with tamoxifen, but it started after taking it, I am also really tired and having lots of hot flushes.

Hi I was diagnosed with IDC 14 mm with DCIS 20mm, no lymph nodes, clear margins grade 3. The onocologist told me I was borderline for chemo so had the oncotype test done. I received the results today which is an oncotype score of 20 and chemo is not recommended. Just wanted to let others know that with a grade 3 there is a chance of no chemo. I am awaiting the brca gene test result if this is positive I would have a Double Mx with no radiotherapy. Otherwise the next step is radiotherapy.
