I had a wle and 20 doses of radiotherapy last year and have just been for my first mammogram. The consultant says some new calcifications are showing but it's unclear if these are the result of treatment or old Ines which have moved due to surgery. Has anyone else had similar experience? I now have to have another biopsy. Wish I had just opted for an mx right away!

I have just had my first post op mammogram and have been told I need another biopsy as some of the calcifications appear to have moved? Possible they could be a new DCIS. It is in the area of the original DCIS, which has been successfully removed and is no longer showing on mammogram. Has anyone else been recalled after their first mammogram for similar concerns. My consultant thinks it is probably old calcifications, which have moved post op, but wants to be sure. Mor anxious waiting....

I' m glad your experience has been good care wise, but I know of many others who have not been so fortunate. Missed appointments, up to 20 different radiographers, machine break downs etc. It's not the fault of the team just funding issues, as always with the NHS? I hope your skin recovers now. Take Care x

I have just finished 25 radiotherapy sessions. I was very lucky as I only ever saw the same 2/3 radiographers each time. My skin is now very pink and a bit sore under the arm, but apart from feeling very tired at times, I have had a very easy time of it. It really depends where you are treated I think and how well staffed, modern, well managed etc the department is. Unfortunately we now live in a post code lottery and private v nhs. Sad times x

No I had 25 because being treated privately and my oncologist prefers this way. It's standard in USA and elsewhere but not in U.K. My skin has held up well just a bit darker under my arm x

Me too! I'm on no 17 now with 8 more to go! Am feeling very tired and little or no energy. Have never watched so many sky box sets!!! Longing to feel me again! 😊

It's not too bad...aloe Vera gel seems to help. Very tired 😴 today though and unhappy at putting on weight because not exercising regularly! 😨

NHS guidelines is 15 but I am being treated privately. My oncologist believes 25 sessions at a lower dose each time is less stressful physically but who knows....

Standard NHS treatment is 15 . I am being treated privately. 25 sessions is standard for most of the rest of the world. We all get the same dosage but NHS is higher each day. There is such high demand for radiotherapy and waiting lists are long. My oncologist believes 25 at a lower dose gives you less trauma but plenty of women seem to manage well on the higher dose so who knows..... x

Finally got back on track today after 2 cancelled appointments due to door malfunction! Won't bore you with all the shenanigans but suffice to say a stern email went from myself to the CEO. Resulted in a large bunch of flowers and compensation for wasted petrol ⛽️ only trumped by Trump 😉
