Hi Sudzi, So pleased you have had a better day.  I worry about everything and also have the thoughts what if my cancer returns.  I hope these thoughts get less in time but I expect that everyone with a cancer diagnosis must think the same.  I have a couple of friends who had quite sizeable breast cancers, with positive nodes, who had chemo and radiotherapy and are both still doing well over ten years later.  Best wishes and happier times for you in 2017. Hi Sudzi, We have not spoken for some time but I have just seen your post. I am so sorry you are having such a bad time. We were diagnosed at about the same time and I have been following your progress. I am recovering from my double mastectomies but having trouble to get a bra that works well with the prostheses', I am thinking of you and hope you will be feeling better soon. Hi Moijan, Thank you for your advice. Luckily my lymph nodes were not involved and I do not need chemo or radiotherapy. I have been put on Letrozole for five years in the first instance. Getting some side effects - arthritic stiffness and pain in joints - mainly feet and legs and am so tired. The tiredness may be a reaction from what has happened. I will let you know how I get on. Hi Moijan, yes, started dusting and can even do a small amount of ironing.  My breast nurse said this was okay.  Still getting a small amount of fluid taken off weekly and then in November get my prosthesis.  Got another worry now.  I have had recurrent basal cell skin cancer on my face and have had two surgically removed.  I am now sure I have got another one on my ear.  Have a follow up appointment with Dermstology in January but I know I should try and get a sooner appointment.  Just had enough with all the breast problems, I just don't feel in the right place to start again with more skin surgery.  It must be lovely to live with peace of mind! Hi Sudzi,  So sorry you are battling with the side effects of chemo.  I am thinking of you and send all my love.  I am starting to get side effects from Letrozole.  Could not sleep last night because of pains in feet and ankle joints.  Went to look for mastectomy bras today but not a very good choice.  Could not be bothered to trail round shops and will look another day.  Still going to get wounds drained but the amount is getting much less. Hi Shep, I have just had a double mastectomy for breast cancer in both breasts.  One showed DCIS and the other was an 18 mm area, invasive with DCIS.  I requested mastectomies as I had small breast cancers about twenty years ago and wanted an end to it all.  I had the mammotone biopsy first and felt no pain at all.  It took about 30 minutes and the machine made a slight burring noise.  The only initial discomfort was the anaesthetic injection.  I only had my mastectomies two weeks ago and I am now managing to do bits and pieces at home and have not had any major pain.  I was lucky, it was grade 2 and the sentinel lymph node biopsies were negative so I do not need chemo or radiotherapy.  It was oestrogen receptor positive so I need to take a table, Letrozole, every day to block the oestrogen.  I really hope things go well for you too.  I was in a terrible state and could not sleep and was in a state of panic. Hi Sudzi,  Just got home today.  Going to hospital every two to three days for drainage.  Been to see Consultant for results and so relieved.  Lymph nodes negative and do not need chemo or radiotherapy.  It is ER positive and I have been put on Letrozole.  Thank you for your encouraging messages.  I will still keep in touch with you as I feel I have made lots of new friends.  Hope you are okay. Hi everyone, Came back home today.  Went to see Consultant for results and much better than I expected.  Lymph nodes negative and I do not need chemo or radiotherapy.  ER positive and I have been put on Letrozole.   I am so relieved.  Going back to hospital tomorrow for more fluid to be drained.   Thank you so much for your help and support and I will still keep in touch.  Hope you are all okay. Hi Sudzi,  Thank you so much for being so caring.  My heart is pounding and my stomach is churning as it is all happening next week.  I go on the 21st to get the dye injected and then back the next day for surgery.  I can easily feel this lump and have got into my head that it will definitely be in my lymph nodes.  I am not the strongest person mentally as I worry a lot but this is just something else!  I am trying to get things sorted at home before it all starts but I can't really be bothered.  I am going for bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction and I think this decision is surprising some of my friends.  I feel I have got enough to cope with at the moment and I can always go for reconstruction at a later stage when I have got all the treatment out of the way and hopefullly I am in a bettter frame of mind.  I will be thinking of you too and please let me know how you get on. Hi Emma,  You and I seem to be in a similar situation.   I have been diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts and have a double mastectomy next Thursday.  I too am suffering from anxiety and keep getting panic attacks about the 'what ifs'.  I found this website and it is really helping me.  When I get into a state I visit the site and there is always someone there to help me.  I live alone and am mainly relying on friends and neighbours to help me through but I too have received some negative comments which really set me back.
