Hi Poppyfields   I'm still waiting too! I had my surgical biopsy two weeks ago today. I had an appointment for last Friday but they postponed it until this Friday as my results weren't back. The consultant said she'd ring if my results came back before my appointment this week if it was good news. I wish she hadn't said that as now I'm waiting for the phone to ring.   I hope it all goes well for you tomorrow, I found the op ok but then mine was only under a local and I didn't need the wire.   Best of luck   Celene x ... Hi Axm   When I went in to have an ultrasound and mammogram because of a lump I'd found, they didn't biopsy at all and are going straight to a lumpectomy which I've got on Weds 11th. I was told they didn't know what it is but it's not a cyst and doesn't appear to be vascular. I do admit I was a bit worried that they hadn't done a biopsy first! Hi ladies   I'm due to have a lump (roughly 1cm in size) removed in early Jan, it's on the surface of my areola. I was wondering how they might do it? Are they likely to cut open the areola or go in from the side of the areola to remove it?   Also, how long does it generally take under a local?   Many thanks   Celene ... View more

Hi All.   I've been lurking around the boards for the past week and getting lots of great advice.   Yesterday I had a mammogram and ultrasound at the clinic as I have a lump on my areola. The consultant has decided to remove it in Jan under a local as they're not sure what it is. Is it normal to have the lump removed rather than do a needle biopsy first? And has anyone else had a lump on the surface of their breast?   I'm not worrying too much about it all as I'm focusing on my brother who's having chemo at the moment for stage 3 testicular cancer.   Thanks in advance.   Celene xx ...
