Hi Karebear. My hair started to grow back during the T part of FECT. I used menthol shampoo every other day. Also massaged my head a few times a day, especially in the evenings when sat watching tv. It does grow back quite fast when it starts, seems like forever. I finished chemo 24 Aug and have had my 1st proper hair cut a few weeks ago. H

Hi all, sorry not been on here for a while. Some of you are on Facebook and some aren't, so sorry for the duplicate post today. Had 1st annual checkup today My appmt was supposed to be just to see Breast Consultant but I asked if they could do mammo too as it was booked for 2 weeks time. They did the mono mammo (!) which didnt seem to hurt so much this time, maybe my pain threshold is higher. Had to wait to see Consultant, his registrar examined mono boob and then my scar from Mx and also all lymph nodes on chest, neck and under chin and around my neck at the back (had to shrug my shoulders for this one). Not a chatty Consultant, asked me if I had any concerns and then said see you next year. Results from mammo back in 2 weeks via post. During treatment time was so slow but now over 1 year from diagnosis time seems to be moving much faster. Love to all Heather

My attitude to work has changed, I dont want to be there. I feel like I am not giving work 100% and got giving my family 100% I want to be at home and sort out the house and more importantly spend time with the boys. I am stuck at work as husband is self employed and struggling for work. So I feel I owe it to my family to earn the money. But I feel my health is more important so I am stuck at the mo. Husband has applied for 5 jobs, heard nothing from anything, so frustrating. H

Whytefawn, my BC nurse told me to hug my heart shaped cushion on Mx side and flaps arms like a chicken. This helps to move the fluid through lymph system and drain it. It did work for me for a while but I did have it drained at 2 week check up post surgery. It didnt come back after that. I didnt have a drain in surgery as my surgeon didnt do them if cup size was A or B. Wish he had just put a drain in anyway as was uncomfortable for 2 weeks. I did also find it helped to not use my arm apart from doing the exercises and flapping! H

Treehouse, I am a chicken on all rides that leave the ground, even the teacups made me want to vommit! The boys did over spin it I have to add. Will find the picture of us on Spash Mountain, I screamed so much my throat hurt!!

Mishy, I was 46 when diagnoised TN last Jan. I was offered test as my Mum had BC (not TN) 3 years before me. Could you not "discover" a distant relative has had it, only just found out blah blah, then they should test you?? Also PIP form, make sure you re read your application form before the meeting and imagine it is your worst chemo day, take yourself back to those horrible times when you answer questions. H
