Hi all. I had my first FEC yesterday. I'm her2 + so my treatment will be 3 x FEC and then 3 x TAX and then on my 4th one I had 17 Herception. My first time didn't go great.to start.. I planned to cold cap it but didn't last very long probably about 3 minutes. I was nervous and anxious anyway as my friend let me down and I couldn't get anyone to go with me last minute! When they took the cold cap off I was still pretty cold and they put the cannula in.. I started to feel woozy and clammy and I then passed out! Think it was a mixture of nerves and the freezing of the cold cap that got me! Apart from that the drugs going in was okay! I took about 2 hours and I was done! I felt very tired and fuzzy head (bit like a hangout setting in) and I haven't slept properly. I'm currently in bed at the moment just having some rest time so when it does it me (if it does) I'll be prepared! I'd love to join a buddy club if there is one going xxx

Before I just got on with it... half of me didn't believe I had cancer... but on Friday night I had my hair cut and it got to me that it was the last time I would be having it cut for a long while! I had to also go to the GP unit yesterday as I thought my scar from my lymph node biopsy was infected and I had a stitch hanging. Had to explain why I had the biopsy etc... when I got there they asked if I wanted to sit in a side room away. I'm only assuming this is because I'm more risk to infection? I declined but when I sat down it hit me that I don't want special treatment. I got in pretty quickly aswell which I don't expect either! It's just the small things that are getting to me. X

It's hard because I've never needed any help normally as asking for help doesn't come natural! I think we've always been a couple of weeks between us Melia in everything it seems. I can't wait to start as it's a start of this nightmare nearly over! X

Melia I hate having to ask for help even I know it's there with friends and family I don't want to take them for granted. I'm yet to start yet. My oncologist appointment is the 19th june so hopefully after that i will have 6 lots of chemo (not sure which one) and then 18 lots of herceptin x

Hi Melia...hugs to you... I'm pretty much in the same boat... I rarely leave my children with anyone so I don't rely on anyone really. My step dad is poorly so can only manage my 4yr old whirlwind for a free hours... my ex's family are basically useless. My ex has been great though he's taken 6 weeks off work to look after them and me whilstni recover from my operation and has said he will take the day off when I start help and don't feel too well! I've tried to keep everything as normal and even booked my daughter's birthday party for mid July which now I'm thinking I'm not sure if I will be upto it.... xxx

We all get like that. I need another operation... it's not bad it's just too get more tissue but it's a Ser back when you plan in your head the time scale of things... I am all cancer free now but still need the treatment which is a bit poo really but they want to give me it all.... digest and gather as much as you need.. you need it as it's such a rubbish thing to go through but with each other's support we can all get through it! X

Hi Louise. I had lumpectomy 5 weeks ago and waiting to start chemo have appointment on the 19th June! I need 6 lots every 3rd week of chemo then 18 lots of herceptin once every 3 weeks so in total a good year of having it plus radio and another small operation! It's a long winded process but one that Is good really in the outcome! We are all here to help and support each other xxx

I've started to feel a lot tender and sore lately! I'm nearly 5 weeks post off. I'm bot sure if it's because I've gone back to normal bras or I'm doing a bit more but I feel very top heavy and tender lately. X

ArchSA really... where abouts do they live? I'm terrified of losing it if I'm honest... it's my children who um thinking of the most my little boy is 4 and bless him he takes it all in and looks after me so much.... I've told him I'm going to loose it but I don't think he understands properly! I'm not sure about the eyebrow thing I'd be interested though x

I've been very selfish lately.... it's been all about me! I've needed to though as think if I didn't I'd make myself worse.... I'm just looking forward to the next couple if weeks when I've no appointments or test or anything to mash my brain thinking about.... X

Flyingarcher this is the same as me. I need another op as tumour was bigger than they thought and although the healthy tissue they removed had no cancer cells in it they still want more! Not really what I was expecting to hear but she wants me to have the chemo first and then the op! X

Yes very relieved as I was certain it had spread. Sorry that yours had spread. Only one is good though. I'll have chemo and herceptin over 18 the next year so this nightmare isn't over yet and then rads too! I'm loving the fact I am now cancer free! And that I can try and get on with my life.... can't plan much because of the chemo but at least there's that little bit of hope x I'm the same. X

Received my results after my lumpectomy and my senile lymph node biopsy.... Lymph nodes was clear as expected. I need a small operation.... my cancer has gone ☺ but they just need to take some more healthy tissue... from the MRI and my 2 biopsies they did before surgery they said my lump was 32mm so 40mm was taken altogether including healthy tissue.... but after looking after surgery it's in fact 38mm so 2mm isn't enough apparently... although there is nothing in my healthy tissue they need more for them to be completely happy..... I will have my 6 lots of chemo and then the operation.
