Ended up being neutropenic and hospitalised. Home for a couple of days now but still feel awful although sickness and diarrhoea mostly gone. I really don't know how I am going to get through this and am petrified of having second cycle next week. My mood is very low and I'm crying all the time, thought I'd cope better than I am. How does anyone get through this?

I had my first docetaxel along with carboplatin yesterday and had Herceptin and something else the day before. Today I've hardly moved, feel breathless and nauseous. Is it not likely to improve then?

Hi lilneenz, I've just started chemo and Herceptin this week. I'm her2+ grade 3 with multiple areas, the largest being 4cm, detected in the nodes, pagets disease and just had a CT scan yesterday so keeping fingers crossed there's no more. How are you finding the chemo? Xx

Hi there, I've just had my first chemo session this week. I'm grade 3, her2+ with multiple areas and detected in the nodes although don't know how many. Just had a CT scan so hopefully will know more soon. I was alarmed at chemo being the first treatment but trust the consultant wholeheartedly. There's an April chemo group on Facebook although I don't know how to link it's called April chemo starters breast cancer care. Come and join everyone is lovely and supportive xxx

Thanks everyone, it's so hard not too worry isn't? Firstly it's the shock of being told you have cancer then the waiting to find out more. I guess I was hoping to be told it was early and easily treated. Still waiting for treatment to start and just imagine it's getting worse and spreading everyday. Never thought I'd be eager for chemo! Xx

Thank you again blueash and for telling me your story. This forum is such a wonderful place! It does help me so much to hear. I think because I lost my sister to bc I feel so negative at times. Thank you also for all the information you gave me on the other thread. Do the doctors recommend them? And as for the price to pay, I will gladly pay it a hundred times over. Hi, I am to start chemo alongside Herceptin on the 18th. I know next to nothing about any of this! Are there any do's or don'ts beforehand or anything I can do to help prepare myself physically? Ive read about it not being good for the heart and have a family history of heart disease. Seen something on taking supplements but wouldn't know where to start. Thanks x

Ok so I had my first appointment after getting diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I'm still confused by all the information I was given but I am HER2+, grade 3 with 4cm area and 3 nodes suspected, probably with Pagets disease as my nipple is affected. It sounded bad and I'm not doing too good at the moment. They want to reverse treatment and I will need everything. So chemo first with Herceptin, radiotherapy then surgery. Anyone with a similar diagnosis or treatment plan that can reassure me this is not the end of the world?

Thanks for the replies ladies, this has been the longest two weeks of my life and now the appointment is almost here I feel I need know as much as possible. I already know it's multifocal which frightens me silly. My GP suggested I record it which I think I will do. I hope I get some answers. X

Hi all, Tomorrow I go to the hospital for my first appointment after getting the news almost two weeks ago. I know they'll tell me the results of the core biopsy I had but not sure what else to expect. I feel as though I should be armed with lots of questions but my mind is a complete blank as what to ask. Hi Skye, so sorry you've had this news. I had almost exactly the same a week and a half ago. Referred to breast clinic by GP, mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy then given the news. It's such a huge shock isn't it? I go back Thursday to find out more and the wait is so hard. Try to keep busy if you can. I'm still very new to this so don't have any advice but saw similarities to you as I'm 47 with 3 children 22,13 and 10 years old if you want to chat. Take care xx

Hopefully your BCN will be able to you decide which option will be best for you. I also feel that given a choice I would go for mx but would probably want immediate reconstruction just to move on quicker and avoid further surgery later on. When are you having your op? Thanks for asking but I am really struggling as still waiting to go back and find things out. Finding it hard to be positive x
