Hi, I started THP chemo in may, used the cold cap through all 4 cycles and my hair has only slightly thinned. I've just had my first of 2XEC cycles, used the cold cap again but all I've heard is bad things about EC and FEC making hair fall out!!! Has anybody else had this drug regime and kept their hair after the change of drugs? Thanks, Skye x

Hi, I had genetic testing due to a strong family history but it came back negative for either brca gene. I'm due to have a WLE and having some lymph nodes removed at some point as they were clear on my initial scan. My BCN said to wait until my consultant appt on Monday for answers to all my questions! I'm going to ask about the benefits of changing to EC, I've been doing fine on THP, heart has been fine and no really awful side effects apart from fatigue and the dreaded tax trots!! Xxx

Hi, thanks for the welcome, I posted a bit when I was first diagnosed but thought I'd come back for some advice! THP is basically taxotere, pertuzumab and herceptin, so I've had 4 cycles of that so far, which has, as far as I can feel, obliterated my naughty lump!!! I'm pr and er negative but HER2 positive and grade 3, so quite an aggressive little critter! X

Hi, I started THP chemo in may, I had my 4th and last cycle last week. Now my oncologist wants to put me on EC for three cycles, without examining me or even seeing me!!! The original plan was to have 3 cycles of THP then a scan to check progress, then either surgery or 3 further cycles of THP. I've been using the cold cap and have kept all of my hair but I'm worried that EC is much harsher and I'll lose my hair after all!! I am booked in for a scan and marker implant on August 1st and if the scan shows significant progress then I'd like to stop any further chemo and start my 18 lots of herceptin after surgery. Has anyone else experienced EC after THP? XXX

Hi, I saw my consultant on Thursday and he told me the shocking news that I have grade 3 aggressive BC, negative for both oestrogen and progestorone but HER2 results aren't back yet. He told me to be prepared to be triple negative 😞 so I am seeing the oncologist next Tuesday, plan is to have a CT then start 6 cycles of FEC chemo, with herceptin if I'm HER2 positive. Absolutely bloody terrified but reading all the posts here and in the triple negative warriors FB page give me lots of hope. Xxx

Annie, I get my results tomorrow, so I'm feeling just like you. I've already spoken to my BCN on the phone and she has told me that it's definitely malignant but couldn't give me any other info. I really hope it all goes well today and that you feel better afterwards x

Hi Kelly, I'm a bit older than you at 43, but have four children aged 7,12,20 and 24 so I know where you're coming from! Last Monday I had a triple assessment and they told me I had breast cancer before I've even got the biopsy results, I've got an appointment on Thursday to get full results and I'm terrified! The first few days were the worst, I've been tearful and emotional, I'm terrified of needing chemo and losing my long hair!! I've lost my appetite and keep waking up at 4 am, the waiting for results has to be the worst bit. The girls on this forum are great, they've given me some good advice and I've calmed down a bit, ready to take on whatever is coming. I'm due to have a lumpectomy too but not sure of the treatment afterwards yet. Keep us all posted, hope you're feeling better x

Hi Karen, you're literally a week ahead of me and I've been thinking the same thing! They already had the breast cancer nurse in the consultants room after I'd had my tests, so I already have her number but I don't want to ask daft questions!! I'm terrified of what I'm going to hear at my appointment next thursday, even though they've already confirmed BC, I'm dreading finding out how advanced it has got! Sending lots of love, I hope it all goes as well as it can.

Thankyou so much for your support everyone, today has been a little less tearful and have told a few members of mine and my husband's families. I am experiencing a lot of discomfort from the 3 biopsies, I have a dressing on it which I was told to remove after 48 hours, but they gave me two spare dressings. Should I change it tonight after I have a shower or leave the original one on? Xxx

Thankyou lovely ladies, I'm only 43 with 4 children aged 24, 20,12 and 7 so I'm terrified for them!! My hubby lost his mum to BC 34 years ago when she was 52 so he's really worried bless him. I know the next 10 days are going to drag but I'm guessing they already know its cancer otherwise they wouldn't have told me!! They took three biopsies so I'm feeling so sore!!! Xxx

Hi, I got referred to the breast clinic by my gp about 3 weeks ago having found a lump in my breast. Today I had a mammogram, ultrasound and 3 biopsies. When I went to speak to the consultant after the tests, there was a specialist nurse sitting in the room so I sort of knew what the consultant was going to say. They are pretty confident it's breast cancer, I have to go to another consultation next Thursday once the results of the biopsies are back, but they have already said that I'll need the lump removing along with some lymph nodes from my armpit. I'm absolutely terrified!! I'm only 43 with no 'red flags', I really wasn't expecting to hear the news!! My GP even told me that he was confident that it wasn't cancer!! It's been great to read through the forums, it's made me feel less alone!!
