Jay when i made my pip claim I could have sworn it was a robot to 😂😂.  He asked me a question and me having chemo brain at the time didnt give the right answer and he just kept asking the question over and over until I gave the right answe it was something like which country were you birth  and I said Great Britain, then England and the correct answer was United Kingdom I was nearly howling when he just kept repeating over and over.  Good luck and like you say if you don't ask you don't get but remember to use your worse day when completing.  ... treehouse glad you are starting to feel better but sorry to hear you now have a migraine.  I could be linked as sometimes even though you may not feel stressed about appointment it could be there in your subconscious.     I have just finished Victoria Derbyshires book from when she had breast cancer and really enjoyed it could relate to so many things that she spoke about.   Andi well done on doing 1000 steps, had my herceptin jab last week and it was so painless, the time before I ended up with big bruise on my leg where it had gone in.   tatyanna so pleased you enjoyed your time away and will be thinking of you on Friday.  That must be strange getting ready for new side effects and not knowing what to expect   I am on number 13/20 of radio and I feel like I am on a daily battle with them as they told me I can't put anything on the area for the whole of the radiation but as it has been itchy and sore I have put alo vera on which has no nasties in and the relief this has given me is amazing.  I just feel like a naughty school girl if I tell them I have put something on as they get very abrupt.  This has happened the last 3 times I have been and seen different people.  I was told we should see the nurse once a week but she has been off sick so I havnt seen anybody since my 2nd treatment and had a further 11 since then.  I have even been on the radioraphy guidelines and it does state to mositurise the area on there guildelines as long as no SLS in product.  Most people that have had radio have been told to keep the area moisturised.  Its the first time since diagnosis that I havn't felt comfortable at the hospital. 😞   ... Fairydusty my nails we very sore and I struggled to file them I literally had to hold the nail whilst I filed it and they looked like I had a fungus infection then 2 months after finishing chemo they all broke off to where the fungus looking nail stopped which was right down the bed.  I painted mine black and put oil on very night but nothing could save them.  I had no new nail underneath so am still wating for them to grow up as I am desperate to paint them again.    Andi good luck for tomorrow   Daffoldil great to hear that you are getting fit and have lots planned and moving on after treatment.     ... Katie good luck with interview, did you mention the c word at all in your application. I am in no rush to look for work but wandering how I explain not being in employment since diagnosis as I was laid off one month prior to diagnosis which was last may since I stopped work.  It must be scary for you after 10 years with the same company, but it could be chance for brand new fresh start 🌈   heather check your sick pay policy at work it is usually a rolling 12 months for any sickness so you may not get full pay if you have exhausted your six months you won't usually get it again till been back at work for 12 months.  As regards looking for another job why don't you wait and see what your pip outcome is, I was allocated it for three years from sept 2017   i have had another date to have my overies out so now go in on the 27th Feb which is the day after my birthday.  I finish radio on 14th Feb so have a couple of weeks with no hospital appointments thank goodness. Only on 4th radio and it is tiring going the hospital every day epecially as have to get there one hour before appointment to try and get a parking space as the parking is really bad.     ... Jay it was only a part body scan, not sure when I will be having the infusion.   for the ladies that have had rad, I don't have much confidence today in the people that are doing it. How long does it normally take and how many times do you have to hold your breath.? I had first one today and was in there for 35 mins didn't explain what was happening and I just didn't feel like they knew what they were doing. When I was finished I was part way getting back dressed and they fetched the next patient In the room which I thought was a bit premature.  I thought rads only took 5 mins    buddyfan so sorry to hear your news but so pleased the October thread are making you laugh, you keep laughing as well it's good for you ☺️ ... Tatyana I am so sorry to hear your news I cannot imagine what you and your husband are going through 😔. If you haven't already appplied for pip please make sure you apply for this especially with you going through more treatment, it's not means tested either.    Treehouse i I am having the zoladex as I didn't want to go on tamoxifen and with me not going through the menopause the zoladex will stop my overies from working which will enable me to take anstrezole. So as I opted for my overies to come out they have put me on this until that happens and I started the ansterzole the day after first injection which I will be on for 10 years and the side effect with this is osteoporosis which is why I had to have bone scan and will be having bone infusion every 6 months to stop this.  The anstrezole seemed better with side effect etc than tamoxifen and it had a 1 percent Better chance of reoccurrence which my oncologist said doesn't sound a lot one percent but he said it was a lot. Hope that makes sense.  The doctors don't know my father In law is on cannabis oil as he hasn't told them, but since he has been on it he has come off his blood pressure tablets as it has put his blood pressure from high to normal.    Shi best of luck with final chemo tomorrow 🌈❤️ Xx ... Andi I managed to get zoladex injection and the nurse who did it was so lovely, she said she hates doing this injection because it's so big but by god did it hurt hoping I don't have to have many more 😫   treehouse bone scan was great and again the person that did that was fantastic her sister had breast cancer and we were chatting for about 45 mins before she did the scan, she was so so kind.  I think when you meet people who have had relatives who have been through this they have a deep understanding of what we go through ☺️   First day of 20 rads starting tomorrow can't say I am looking forward to going the hospital every day counting down to last one which is Valentine's Day ❤️ Then another one ticked off ✅. Just overies to have out ✅Herceptin till august ✅ bone Infusion every 6 months for 3 years boy oh boy is it a long process.     Dont know if some of you remember my father in law was diagnosed terminal day before me. They said he had 12 months or 2-3 years with chemo, he lasted two weeks on chemo and was admitted twice to hospital so stopped having it, whilst I was having chemotherapy I met a chap who was taking the cannabis oil so he said he could get me some for father in law which he has been having since sept last year he started immunotherapy in October and had scan in January he has been for results and all his tumours have shrunk not sure which is working it could be both but the immunotherapy won't work on the brain, he had radio to zap tumour in brain but they said they can't  stop it coming back and nothing showing on scan, he had tumour on calf, groin, lung and one close to his bowel so we are all thrilled hoping it all Keeps on working ☺️ ... tatyana perhaps the nurse who did it the first time wasn't very good and it was the same nurse who did my herceptin jab and I ended up with such a bruise on my leg where she put the injection and it was really swollen to. Fingers crossed that I get a better nurse this time. ... View more

ps Jay thanks for advise re creams, mine said that if I had any cream on me then they woulnd't do the radiation. So I may put it on when I get back then have shower before I go to remove it all. ... View more

Zoladex is to stop my overies from working prior to having them out as I wasn't keen on starting tamoxifen and the only way I could get anstrazole was by having this injection which yhey only give to post menopausal women so it is to put me in menopause as I am 42 so not gone throught the change yet. ... Ladies that have had rads they have told me today that you can't put anything on the treatment area until you have finished treatment.  I am sure some of you have been using creams whilst on rads, is this correct?  It seems easier for the people doing the this to tell you not to do certain things but I wonder would they be the same if it happened to them.  I start four weeks of rads on Thursday. I have just been to the doctors to have zoldex injection and ladies that have had this will know it is one huge needle and not pleasant so I had worked myself up all day, then when I get there the nurse asks me if I have the injection with me, I'm like erm no why would I think I need to bring it with me as I told the receptionist two weeks ago why I was coming and my oncologist had wrote to the doctors to explain what was happening next, she then wrote me a prescritpion and said I need to go and get it from the chemist and come back with it.  However no chemist in my area stocks this ggrrrrrrr.  I have now had to order it in and book back in for tomorrow if it comes in time otherwise I am booked in for thursday.   I then get home and I am booked in to have my overies out next week which not had no pre appointment about this with consultant so they must just book you in to have it done.  I have now had to cancel that as you can't have surgery whilst you are having radiation.  Hoping they rebook me in for around end of Feburary but boy oh boy is that quick service. ... Heather you need to keep the appointment, I know if you go for appointment at there place there is a camera outside lol but no one wil be watching you.  Just make sure you use you bad day.  You don't know what round the corner as look what has happened to treehouse and if you have something like pip in place it takes the pressure off.  ...
