The treatment was to take progestron, to reverse changes, but as my breast cancer was hormone positive my ong wouldnt allow it, i was advised to stop taking tamo as that they believed was causing it, and further 6 monthly hyterscopys and byopseys, my womb went back to normal, my womb was 28mm when i stopped tamo, they didnt actually tell me what it was in my finally biobsey in october 2021 , all they said was there was now no concern it was normall , they discharged me and said they didnt need to see me unless i had heavy bleeds again, since then all has been well Debbie

Hi i was advised to come of tamoxefin by my ongolgist, as i was suffering endometrial hyperplasia and i couldnt have the hormone treatment to reverse the damage, i have been of it 2 years now, i didnt have any side effects from not taking it, but after a year my womb returned to normal , i was taking it for 18 months, it was decided by my ongologist it was causing more risk to my body than it was prevention, we discussed the odds of my breast cancer returning againstthe odds of womb cancer if i continued taking it, i stopped and after two bibseys womb started going back to normal, i dont think a break does any harm, but then again it depends on each individual person and the grade of your cancer and risk to you as an individual, for me it was not a good call to keep taking it. I forgot to say, i was on zoledex and letrozole for four months at the beginning of my journey in 2017 and i also had alot of pains in my hips, somedays it was a struggle to walk down the stairs, i was then switched to tamoxofin which i have been on 3 years, so im not looking forward to going back on them in 6 months, fingers crossed im in menopause after blood test and then it will just be zoledex, hope your keeping well Debbie x

Hi, im sorry i have only just found your post, my result was endometrial hyperplasia but not cancerous as of yet, offered me hormone treatment to reverse it but my ongologist said i cant have treatment. yes i have been taken off tamoxofin, im having 6 months break then a blood test to see if im in menopause, then a biobsey of womb again, then its either zoledex and letrozole, or just zoledex depending on my bloodtest results, then they will monitor my womb. Hi Evie, my oncolgist said i am not to have the hormone treatment to reverse womb changes, i have to stop taking tamoxofin and have a blood test in 6 months to see if my body is in menopause, im ,56 so i should be, if im in menopause i will have monthly zoledex injections, if im not in menopause zoledex and letrozole, and gynacolocolgy will monitor my womb with a further biobsey in june, i asked could they just do a hysterectomy and they said its too drastic at this stage, my womb was 11mm 18 months ago on first biobsey, it is now 24mm, they want to see how it reacts after tamoxofen is out of my system in 6 months, not looking forward to zoledex injections , as i had them at the beginning of my breast cancer journey and im a woos with needles lol. best wishes everyone Debbie

Hi . Today i was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia . Caused by tamoxifen. They say it can be reveresed by treating it with hormones and biobsys every 6 months. They cant treat me until they speak with my oncolgist as im still on tamoxifen. Are there any ladies that has experianced this, and what treatment were you given. Im abit confused as im taking tamaxofin as my breast cancer was 8/8 eastrogen and progestron. So a bit confused as to why they would want to treat my womb with more hormones. Hi lyndy lou Just read your post as i was searching for info myself. I have been on tamo for three years. I had a bleed 18 months ago. Was sent for a ultra sound scan and an internal. I was told my womb lining was thickened it was 11mm. Then i had hysterscopy and biopsey. Results were nothing to be concerned about and put down to tamoxofin. Skip 18 months and bleed again. Same procedure of investigation. I had hysterscopy 3 weeks ago. Womb lining is now 24mm and they found 2 x 2 cm polyps , and i had womb biobsey. Still waiting for results. Im telling myself no news is good news . Hope everything turned out well for you x

Hi, just wanted to say i uderstand how scared you feel, i think once you have had cancer, the fear is always there , im always thinking when will it return, like you im having rib pain, i put up with it for a while, then decided to see my gp, they referred me to hospital, and consultant has booked a bone scan, it seems for ever i been waiting for it , i just want it over, i got so close and it was cancelled the day before, its now rebooked for next week, it feels along wait when your waiting, definatley get yourself checked out , im worried mine has spread, but at the same time im telling myself its tamoxofin starting to cause me pain i have had 3 years on it with no issues, not even a hot flush, and i thought how lucky am i lol, maybe tamoxofin is being abit harsher to me now, fingers crossed, all the best too you . Hi, thankyou for your reply, its very scary once you been on that rollercoaster, and the thought of getting back on it, ive had a date for auxillary scan, just waiting for bone scan, i keep telling myself id have to be very unlucky for it to have spread through my blood, but cancer is devious, i will keep you posted. Sorry that your dealing with this again, i find somedays my pain has gone, then all of a sudden its there again, which was why i felt i should get checked, it didnt seem like it was gonna go away, thankfully my doctor examined me and referred me straight to hospital, and i was seen in a week, i have peace of mind that the hospital is still looking after me, keep in touch and let me know how your doing, we can share insomnia storys lol. Hi, i had idc grade 2 breast cancer in 2017, mammoplasty surgery, 3 sentinel lymph nodes removed, 15 radiotheryopy, and tamoxifen. All has been fine, but ive had oppiste side armpit pain for 2 months which i kind of ignored hoping it would go away, i decided to go to the doctors, and they referred me to breast clinic, they found one lymph node thats slightley larger than it should be, they didnt seem to be too worried about right boob, but they have booked me in for a scan on it and my lymph node, they said that my pain was deep and they think its my ribs, they have also booked a bone scan, i came away thinking wow , i actually never even thought it could be bones, and now im remembering the back ache i wake up with in the night and every morning thinking, gosh i need a new mattress, now im worried my cancer spread through my blood as my lymph nodes were clear. I quess what im asking is, has this ever happened to anyone else. Thanks for reading Debbie x

Hi , ive been on tamoxofin for 18 months, if im honest its been very kind to me and i dont know im taking it, im 55 have no no hot flushes no weight gain, bit of dry skin is all. When i was diagnosed with breast cancer i was on the mini pill, so i never experienced periods, i was told to stop taking it when i was diagnosed, periods then started, and stopped few months after taking tamoxofin, i had a good 6 month break in periods, and then had 3 perouds in space of 2 months, 2 were light, 1 was horrendous, i reported to doctor, after my nagging partner, i was sent for a pelvic scan, and internal, results came back, they found fybroids there not concerned about, some cysts and my womb lining was 11mm, they have reffered me to a suspected cancer gyno clinic for a hysterscopy within two week rule to be seen, was just wondering if there was any ladys in my position, thanks for reading

Hi sally, just reacting to you saying you couldnt have radiotheraphy again, i heard this on a hospital programme two weeks ago, if you get a reacurrance you cant have radio again, i was quite shocked by this, as its something they dont tell you. Debbie xx

Hi katie Please try not to worry to much, the positive is that you have found something and your in the system now, i know its an anxious time waiting, and you are very young, so that is in your favour, i have alot of history in my family, my mother had breast cancer and so did i, have 3 girls all in there twentys and they constantley worry, i think its natural, one of my daughters had a lump checked they told her it was a breast mouse, first time i heard of one of them lol, good luck and try not to worry. Hi floss When i was diagnosed in may 2017, they told me they had to start treatment by 30 days after diagnoses or they get fined, i had to sign a letter as i chose to delay mine due to a family holiday planned, i had to state it was my choice. Good luck Debbie

Hi candee I have been taking tamoxofen, since september, only side effect i have noticed is my skin is very dry, apart from that i dont know im taking it, and maybe a slight weight gain, but that could be me over indulging lol All the best Debbie

Hi magic maria I can sympathise with you, i had the exact same thing happen to me, they put me through the system again at the one stop clinic, had both breasts scanned and mammogram after 6 months of op, i was told it was a small cyst, nothing to worry about, i was so apologetic to them, as i constantley worry now, even though i had the all clear, a month later the worrys come back, i have to say, they were absolutley brilliant with me, hope all goes aswell for you hugsss Debbie

Thankyou helena, i should of said it was my normal boob i found the lump, but all is well, it was a cyst, they scanned and checked both boobs , and had mammo, such a releif. Debbie x
