Hi Jules. I am on Capecitabine and have not really had many side effects only feelin a little sick not vomiting the hospital gave me sickness tablets which clear it, have not had hand and foot problems but have had a few bouts of tummy ache and Diarrea, I am due my fourth cycle soon and a scan next week .Good Luck.x ... Hi Jules. I have been on Cape for 3 months now and have not had many side effects only Fatigue an a few bouts of sickness just feeling sick not vomiting no trouble reallywas very dubious about this drug because I had heard the side effects were quite bad but I don’t really take any notice of what they say about them just get on with it basically. Hi All. Just wanted to say I am about to start my 3rd round of Capecitabine no side effects only tiredness but can cope with that doing reallywell on it, can’t understand why some people have so many side effects feel so sorry for them, oncologist ringing me tomorrow to see how I am getting on with the tablets. Hi Clare’s.  Went to see the Oncologist today face to face I was so nervous about what she was going to say about the C T scan but I was so pleased she said one Tumour had grown in lower back a she said it is very tiny and all is stable at the moment god I was so relieved. I am on my second cycle of Capecitabine , have only had Fatigue hand’s and feet are ok, Oncologist is ringing me in six weeks to see how I am getting along on the tablet’s so all good at the moment, I have heard good reports about this drug so hopefully it will work.Good luck hope you are coping ok.x ... Hi all on Capecitabine. I am on my second cycle of this drug, had a Scan on Friday and Oncologist wants face to face on Wednesday just wondering why she want’to see me so soon I am worrying now that there is something on the scan that’s worrying her, have not had any side effects really just Fatigue and two sickness episodes when I felt sick but no vomiting, I do suffer from scanziety and am terrified she is going to tell me I am going to die.xx ... Hi Mounties.    I was exactly the same as you I was on Fulverstrant  but stopped working also had more Tumoursin my spine after having a MRI scan, I was terrified wondering if there was more treatment Oncologist has put me on a chemo Tablet Capecitabine been on it a week no side effects so far but early days, I am 77 so older than you, it’s your choice I chose the Chemo tablet option.  I have got a CT scan next Monday and a face to face with my Oncologist who has been absolutely great I do get Scaniety so not looking forward to the results . Capecitabine is supposed to be a good drug there are ladies on here who have been on it for quite a few years.Good luck let me know how you get on. ... View more

Hi Thumper . Thanks for your reply I am 77 so older than your mum and will probably have to have Chemo as the tumours in my spine and pelvis have got worse, I also have liver elevation but oncologist thinks it’s been caused by Exesmestrene so she has taken me off it, just waiting for ultrasound on the Liver she is ringing next week to discuss having chemo I am scared but Oncologist believes in it because it does kill the cancer cells, yourmum is a brave lady to go through it , I wish your mum good luck I will be thinking about her.x ... Hi so sorry about your Mums results but I sure the oncologist will give her more treatments, I have got to make up my mind weather to have Chemotheraphy or not, my last blood test came back with Liver Elevated so got to have ulstrasound to see what’s going on there.   Oncologist is ringing next week with results and talk about having Chemo, I feel at the moment I am to old to go through it I am 77 although Oncologists believes in it because it kills Cancer Cells so might go with what she say’s. How was your mother with the Chemo did she have many side effects I will be having 6 treatments over 6 months. ... View more

Hi Cherrytree. I had a blood test two weeks ago I actually said to the nurse I have had this desease for 19 months and bloods have been ok all through my treatment, a CT scan very early on showed 2 Lesions on my Liver Oncologist said they were so tiny and thought they were cysts, anyway next day after the blood tests came back with Liver was elevated so they did a repeat test a week later, next day Oncologists secretary rang me to say Doc on holiday so she is ringing on Tuesday so I am so scared that there is something wrong , we’re your Liver tests elevated I was feeling pretty well before all of this just feel hopeless the Secretary didn’t mention blood results so makes me think of all sorts I am on Exemestane which can cause Liver problems. ... Hi Stargate re your message.  Yes I was taking a Chemo tablet but it hasn’t worked so jus have the injection in my arm for the bones, results from last MRI were not good more Tumoursin my Thorax, Oncologist has recommended Chemo on the drip and has given me 6 weeks to come to a decision 😩 can’t make up my mind I am 77 now and feel that my body won’t take it, anyway I just keep going like we all do on here. Hi Jan been reading your messages and find them helpful, just wanted to know how you coped with Chemo my Oncologist believes in it and has given me 6 weeks to make up my mind about having it, I am 77 and she said they have a lot of patients my age going through it, she is ringing me on 8th August for my decision. The last MRI wasn't good more Tumours in the Thorax she has put me on Extresmetine and taken me off other treatment I jus have bone injection in my arm. I really want to talk to someone who has been through Chemo is it worth having will it shrink the Tumours will it give me extra time who knows obviously I have questions for her I know it's my decision only but just want some advice.  ... Hi Jan thanks for your reply my results where not good more Tumous in the Thorax Oncologist has put me on another drug called Exemestane and taken me off the injections in my bum because they haven’t worked so just to have the bone strengthening injection and the tablet from now n, she believes in Chemotheraphy but I don’t really want it she has given me 6 to Seven weeks if I decide to have it I am 77 now and don’t think I could take, has anybody on here had been on Chemo. ...
