Just wanted to wish you luck Helena - I can imagine how nervous you must be. I have been told I will have my annual mammogram a year after the surgery date - interesting how different hospitals do things a bit differently. Good luck Jencat for the rads - the time will go by quickly.

Straight after finishing rads, I came down with a really nasty cold - very fluey and I endeed up staying in bed for two days and it took10 days before I felt normal again. The nurse I saw a few days ago when I had my review said that this kind of thing often happens after rads. I feel great now though - have gone back to my usual exercise regime and I am still eating/drinking healthy stuff. I've gone off alcohol which is a bonus. I still get sharp stabbing pains but I think these will always be there due to nerve damage - I have a couple of numb patches and an extra sensitive area as well.

I wasn't told about the boosts until I had my oncologist appointment a month after my operation - before this, I was told all long that it would be 15 days of radiology.

No extra scans for me - they marked the square for the boost with a black sharpie and then used waterproof tapes to protect the ink as the tumour bed is in an unusual position and lining me up without this will be very trickey. The last couple of days I had a bolus so no more bap squashing thanks goodness,

A bit of bap squashing again today, not as bad as yesterday though as they noticed I was a bit freaked out so they eased the machine off me a bit.

Yay Spiderwoman! 15th session done - just 5 boosts to go now. I got there early and was seen to immediately as apparently quite a few people didn't turn up due to the weather - the roads were fine but I appreciate that not everyone is a confident driver. I also saw my Macmillan Nurse for a catch up and she was impressed at how good my breast looked - its just a bit pink and at how well I am doing. Have a good weekend 🙂

Brumann - fingers crossed for you. Yay Alibobs! How are you feeling? I would be interested to know if the post rad fatigue hits you. During this treatment, I'm working only mornings and already work is looking hectic with lots of meetings etc during the few weeks following the end of my radiotherapy...:/ Number 13 done...just 2 more regular rads and then the 5 boosts to go. Interesting to see how other hospitals do things differently. Stay safe and warm everyone!

They don't provide gowns at my hospital - I have to strip off my top half. Lining me up is still an ongoing issue and today they got my oncologist to come and check as they weren't happy. Apparently the area that needs zapping is too tight to line up but the oncologist said it would be ok. I have my CT planning session for the boosts tomorrow as well as my 12th rad session so its going to be a long day....

10th session done so I'm now half way through (I have 5 boosters after next week)....feeling rather jealous of those who only have 15 to do. Still feeling ok and boob is slightly pink, its just the thought of going through two more weeks of the travelling, parking, waiting etc. I should count my blessings and remember there are loads of people worse off. Anyway, have a great weekend everyone!

Body Pump was great - didn't push myself too much though. I asked my team about gym and they were encouraging as exercise is supposed to be good for comabting fatigue, but warned me re tight sports bras but I have an adjustable one that's very comfortable and the cream I use helps prevent any rubbing.

Number 9 today - tomorrow will be the half way point! Felt tired afterwards so had a cat nap and now I'm feeling pretty good and will be going to Body Pump soon before having an early night.

I think chemo might have been mentioned because they don't know yet if you are HER+ - if you are, then chemo is the usual treatment for it. If not then I am sure your oncologist and team will look at everything to decide what would be best for you so try and not to worry.

It is hard to know if its the tablets or the radiotherapy that's causing the change in mood and other side effects. Maybe thats why some people have been told to wait til after rads before starting hormone therapy.

Thanks ladies for the replies re stinging arm. 6th session for me - boob starting to get a bit sore and today I felt tired for the first time, not sure if its the treatment but have been resting since I got home.
