Oh my goodness.
I shall never be able to swallow them that size. Thank you for taking the time to measure them. I believe they are to be swallowed whole and mustn't be crushed.
I am so fed up with this, why isn't anything straightforward for me.
I am to go to the doctor tomorrow to get my prescription, and will explain my dilemna to him. Though i don't hold out much hope for a solution.
Thanks foryour concern, I will let you know how I get on. Has anyone else had by injection?

I have just been prescribed to take Alendronic Acid and Calcichew D3.
I read that Alendronic Acid cant be chewed or crushed, I cant swallow tabs unless they are very small.
How big are they? Also read that you have to stand for 30mins after taking. Is this correct and how are you coping and what side effects have you experienced?

Just to answer a few of your questions. I am 58 yrs old. Was diagnosed with BC 12 years ago.Had a partial mast, rads and Tamoxifen.Now new primary in same breast. Had Mastect and immediate recon 6 weeks ago..Found lump in November and just have got to this stage - that is 6 months. Had CT scan and bone scan - all clear. Lymph nodes clear. Margins clear and tissue removed was all clear. Cancer was grade 3, oesdtrogen and Herceptin negative. Progesterone positive 2%.
As you can imagine I have just had enough of hospitals and to be told that chemo was a possibility is just devastating for me. I will also have to have further surgery
for a nipple and uplift on my other breast to make them match.
\chemo will be for 5 months and therefore I will have spent a year of my life sorting all this out. another 5 months of treatment which may not be a necessity.
Totally confused and don't know what to do.
My family don't want me to go through any more.

Hi
I have just undergone mastectomy and immediate reconstruction.
Everything was clear all tests clear.
I have been offered chemo. Cant see why I should put myself through more
treatment when I am all clear.. I am still recovering from op and feel shattered.
Family dont want me to go through anything else, neither do I.
Has anybody else had this dilemna?

I too am having probs with the binder the give youi. Had reconsruction 2 and a half weeks ago. I find it rides up at night and is
xtremely uncomfortable .
Havent had a decent nights sleep as I have to sleep on my back. .
This has been the worst part of the whole thing for me, hardly any pain but binder discomfort

Yes thank you Jossy for taking the time to give us an insight of what to expect.
Must say I was surprised - my BCN said I will have to wear a corset and a comfortable bra. She even said they may put a bra on me in theatre when op is finished.
Confused and still nervous.

I am due to have a mastectomy and diep flap op in 3 weeks time. I would like to know of others experiences. What do I need to take into hospital with me.What to expect before and after op. Procedures. Recovery. How long before i can do hings andreturn to work.
As you can see I have so many questions.
I am feeling very nervous and so any info given will be apprciated.
