Morning all, Feeling a little more human now though I am having tummy troubles, even though I am not eating solids. Did manage a little yesterday. So now taking tabs to stop the diarrohea. I am injecting Filgrastim, two to go. Injection ok achy bones afterwards. Sometimes feels as though my hips are going to pop out. But as I am laying down all day not too bad. I did go to my surgery yesterday to see a nominated cancer Dr for me, lovely lady. She has given me tabs that dissolve under the tongue in case of sickness next time. The oncologist called they are going to inject me with an antisickness drug with all the other chemo drugs next time, will last for 5 days. Fun. Going to have a shower, still have hair. Morning all, Really really rough weekend. Chem  Mon and Tues, Weds and Thurs Ok, Fri really bad ended up in hospital, they were wonderful. Have spent the weekend in bed not eating. UUGG day today, not feeling good. Has taken me about two hours to get up showered dressed. Dog has had a small walk and I am trying to eat my porridge. Took the last of my anti sickness tabs still have to inject, they are not a problem, so far. But I am very sore down below. Day 3 of chemo. Yesterday early wake up 3.50am, but felt OK all day went to bed after 10.00pm, very late for me, but awake just after 4.00 am today. Have finished my steroids for a few weeks so sleeping should improve. Did a little work in the garden yesterday, Factor 40 on. Did more than I had planned but energy levels good. Drinking lots of fluids and lots of Ginger products for queasiness. Still got hair and nails, have put ON 6lbs, only me. Still able to take dog for his walks, so far so good. I am not used to doing nothing so I have to try not to do too much. Luckliy 3 friends popped in yesterday so lots of chats. Today is day 3 and todays delight is self injections. 7 seven days into the tummy area. This is to help me with my bones, however one of the expected side effects is BONE pain, yay yippee. 2nd day of chemo done, so one down five to go. Very very long day. My brother picked me up at 8.00am and dropped off at home at 5.30pm. Had all four drugs no reactions so next time can can have all in one go. As for hints and tips, wrap in layers that you can add or take off if having an ice cap. Also was given a knitted headband that went over my ears to stop them from falling off from the cold. lots of mags books anything to keep you occupied. Lots to drink. I had already prepared tonights meal, and I have prepared tomorrows breakfast, so even if not feeling too good there is something ready for me. I have a bag ready to take containing all my notes and tick charts should I need to go into hospital as an emergency. 2nd day of chemo today, so a long day ahead. I have opted for the cold cap, so that adds time. Collected all my pills and injections yesterday too, spent a long time getting it all written down correctly and tick charts done. Slept yesterday afternoon, not sure it was the drugs or just catching up on sleep from an enjoyable weekend, very tiring though. Dog didn't help when he wanted to play with foxy outside at 3.30am! Ate OK yesterday drank lots of fluids, mainly water. Will be having a PICC line put in on the 21st, so that will make things easier.Yesterday and today using small veins on my wrist. Morning, Deep breathe, remember everyone, everyone is there to help. Family,  friends,  BCN, Surgeons, Oncologists, us here on this site. We are here holding your hand, we are good at that, as we are all on the journey. Cannot answer your question re moving hospital, some one else will. As to every ache, pain, tingle,  is magnified 1000%,  that is normal, happens every day,  we always jump to the worse senario. Two days ago I had tingling in my fingers,  a pain in my elbow which was also slightly swollen, I talked myself into sepsis and that I would not be able to have chemo, ever. I showed it to my BCN, who i was seeing anyway, who reassured me that it was a midge bite. That I always have this swelling when bitten, I had forgotten.  Every newly recognised pain is a sign of the cancer spreading, NOT TRUE. Our bodies do have aches and pains , all the time, we just become more sensitive to them. If you are not sure, ask. As to the biopsy I found it OK, everything was explained, for me, it was quick and easy, and not sore. Had to wait a little while for results, but not too long. Morning Floss, start chemo on Mon I was to have 2 ....mab mix on the Mon and the other 2 mixes on tues. However they dont have one of the ...mabs until the tues. So on Mon I will be at the hospital 9.30 to 12.30 ish with pertuzumab no cold cap needed. On Tues trastuzumab, docetaxel and carboplatin with cold cap so will be there 8.30 to 4.30 ish, long day. Had an echocardiogram yesterday results have been sent to my oncologist, but dont expect any problems there. Have taken the first week off , and see how I go. The Nurse said my biggest problem would be fatigue which would generally worsen as treatment progressess. The nurse also took some bloods and as the large vein in my right arm collapsed at my least treatment 12 years ago, after this first round of chemo they will put a PICC line in. Today I am going up to Mums to give it a final clean as we have a first viewing this afternoon. Morning, In my case they elected to do chemo first to shrink the tumour, they have put a clip in to mark how far it went. This then enables them to reconstruct my breast not a mascectomy . I too am HER+ and ER+ and is large 4cm. I had a CT and MRI I start Chemo next week. Yay. Hi Floss, sounds like we are having similar chemo. Seeing the chemo nurse on thurs, lots to get clear answers to. At school part of my job is welfare so need advice as to when to be in school, already sorted that I will not be doing any of the 3 S's ( snot, sick or s h i t ) but I will need a care plan in place for me. I am going to but kept use the cold cap, 12 years ago, other breast, I used the cold cap lost all hair below my neck  kept all above, though it did thin a bit. As to fasting I read back over several threads and there is some very good info have a browse. Cazzy ... View more

Saw Oncologist, chemo can go ahead and begin without ECG , they will add the two stronger drugs later. The chemo is TCH with Perjeta and herceptin. then op then rads. Herceptin for a year then zolendronic acid for 3 years. No actual start date yet, but there is a plan. XXX ... View more

Managed the funeral OK, my brothers held my hands and we all got through it. Such a shock for everyone, no time to adjust before I start on the next stage of my journey.
