I agree, I'm still going through chemo, but jigsaws are totally mind cosuming, it's a bit like bubble wrap, you just can't walk away, because you suddenly find that next bit and you are so busy looking for the next piece that you can't think about anything else. Klairee, first of all big hugs. Sorry you found yourself here late at night but glad you found us.  As Cassie and Ann have said, it is normal to get the wobbles at this stage as you have been given life changing news.  I know how it feels to be scared of your own body and to no longer trust every ache, pain, rash. Once you've received one piece of bad news, why not another. That's the mindset you develop which spirals your mind out of control.   You should receive the same protocol for treatment at any NHS hospital so try not to worry about the transfer. I suppose the communication gets more confusing for you with being moved around and you're probably worrying about information being transferred efficiently?  Just keep in touch with your new BCN. They are really good at keeping you in the loop.  Once your treatment plan starts you will feel better but the period from diagnosis to treatment is the hardest time. Kirsteen and Cazzy, just thought I'd pop back in to let you know that after 6 months since I knew about this and 5 weeks post op, I've had my post op results. As you can imagine, I went in fearing the worst as it had a long time to to its own thing in there! I had convinced myself it would have gone walkabout and would have grown strong.   No! 1 grade 2 invasive piece has disappeared! The others have been cut out and my Oncotype score has come back low. No more than the one node from the level 1 clearance affected. No chemo or rads "just" hormone therapy.   Hope you are both doing well, but wanted you to know not to worry about the time scale. Hi cazzy I had TC chemo, so can share my experience. I found that I had no sickness at all. I took the meds for a few days when I felt nauseous, but was never sick. What I did struggle with was fatigue. Now this was partly me, but I found the first week, I didn't really do much. I didn't feel ill, just had little energy. So just prepare yourself for that first week. Eg, shopping, washing, etc. Then sit back, and rest. Try joining the monthly chemo thread in June when it starts. Sue xx ... View more

Hi ladies I had both my scans and they were fine. Not as bad as I thought they were going to be. I didn’t enjoy my ct ‘cocktail drink’ (contrast medium) I had to drink over an hour before the scan. Hi Magsta, sorry to hear you have found yourself here, I was diagnosed about4 weeks ago, so far been told it's Grade 1 ductal 33mm with some other  small spots in same breast, ultrasound showed no lymph involvement.  I was only given the option of a mastectomy but then had to decide whether to reconstruct or not.  It's a tough decision to make and one that only you can make.  I found my BCN helpful, she showed me photos of ladies who had all types of surgery, prothesis, bras etc and I was also lucky to know ladies who are both living with one breast flat and one who had double recon from with expander implants.  Both are equally happy, one 2 years post diagnosis and the other 10 years.  I am not reconstructing, it still will be an option in the future tho.  I think you will know what your choice will be deep down, you must do what feels right for you, ask lots of questions.  My surgery I on 16th may so I'll pop back and let you know how I get on.  I'm totally scared and don't know what treatment awaits me, still haven't had Her2 result but it is er+.  We have a thread May surgery and quite a few ladies already had ops and reconstructions and all doing well, perhaps have a read?  Now going to kick my morning gremlins into touch, I hate mornings but find a quick visit on here perks me up and stops me feeling alone.  Sending hugs Kip ... Mimi, I agree, nothing is more important than your health. If you don't have that then you have nothing.  I've overhauled my life and have a completely new perspective now.  I really think stress and high cortisol can increase your toxic hormone levels and reduce your immune system.  I can't beleve the burned out state I got myself into before my duagnosis.  I hope all goes well for you. Don't feel you are letting others down, Cazzy. We can't stop what is happening to us and have to take the professional advice on offer. If that means delays, then we can only go along with the timescale we're given. No reasonable colleagues will feel you are letting them down, and if there are any unreasoanble ones, just don't take any notice of them.    Very best of luck. Hi ,I'm home from surgery and all went well .No pain yet but I did have nerve blocker so I'll see when that wears off. As others have said on this brilliant forum it was much better than I imagined .Now for the two week wait for results and next step in treatment .Wishing you all the best for next week ,I won't say "you'll be fine " as i got heartily sick of hearing that from people who have no idea what we're going through .Hope I don't sound too ungrateful.Sue ... Hi cazzy. Hope all goes well tomorrow with your surgeon. Make a note of anything you need to ask or need a tad more info on. I found my surgeon knew what I needed to know and yes if like me you will be so engrossed in what they are telling you your own questions get forgot about though no fault of your own. I rang my bcn the next day and had my questions answered. Take each day as one day at a time, don’t go to far ahead. Easy to say I know but this is how I got to where I am today and that was with advice of the champions on this site. If you have a crappy day then this is fine because tomorrow which is another day and you might be fine so cherish it. I know how you are feeling and it does get easier once your plan is In place. ... Doglover, I am so sorry to hear this, having to deal with the re-occurence and your wedding plans. Your head must be spinning.
