hi Mia7 i was verbally diagnosed straight after my biopsy and was told that they are fairly certain its cancer i dont even get the official results till the 13th jan in the mean time i had an mri and now i have to have a ct scan on the day i get my official results, (before the actual diagnosis) ive been stressed out since christmas eve,  ruined my christmas of course, and i really think im going to die from this awfal monster. ... Hey, kip I can feel your pain mate, I know how difficult is to stay calm and relax in hospital, but as a gamer, I prefer to keep my console with me in my room I know it's sound so weird but that's what I want to do instead of listing music and lying in a bed whole day I prefer logging to  Ubisoft Store coupons  and playing game which is helping to keep you distracted from the hospital atmosphere and keep you motivated. ... hi,    I feel the same, I was 49, December 2019 I found 22mm DCIS Grade3, could not be seen on mammogram.. had sentinel biopsy, lymph nodes clear.. had mastectomy and I am tamoxifen for 5 years..  Had mammogram which was clear, yearly consultation over the phone, I ask the question, and it was dismissed.  I feel like I am just sitting here waiting for it to return..  not sure what the answer, apart from paying to go private.  ... Hi, Did you find out who the holistic therapist was and what the ointment was that restores normal sensations to her fingers. I am at the desperate point of feeling I may have to stop the targeted therapies because of the worsening neuropathy and any possible ways to manage and reduce the neuropathy and prevent deterioration I am willing to try. Hi Ginge I am an occupational health nurse attented a one stop breast clinic on 14/12/20 thought I had a cyst no they biopsed it turned out to be 37mm lump behind right nipple er positive and her positive 3 nodes affected Feb 2020 had diagnostic mammogram breast clinic NHS told I was perimenopausal and had fibrocystic breast condition  However I had an horrible feeling something was wrong with me from the summer Im totally devasted ive got BUPA so landed on chemo chair on the 13/01/2020 had two sessions last week cancelled due to taxol  a;;ergy ive googled till my fingers are sore back on wednesday to have the toxic waste pumped into me I know how good herceptan is but pls anyone out there with some advise i really need it westieruth x         ... Oh Silver Pixie, I am so sorry to read your sad news. Loosing your dear Dad must have been heart breaking for you. I am so sorry to hear you have had heart problems too but glad you will be back on track with the Herceptin again this week. I haven't had Letrozole. I had Zolendronic acid a couple of weeks ago. Hi Clarabella, sorry to hear about your mastectomy and that you have more surgery to come. Is it all a preventative measure because of your BRCA2 result? Must feel endless to still be facing more treatment but at least you know you have taken all the measures you could have to stop it coming back, you don’t want to have any “what ifs” in the future. Are you going to have reconstructive surgery too or did you have it straight away? I had a lumpectomy so not sure how it works after a mastectomy, if you have to wait. At least you got the first stage done before lockdown.  Don’t worry too much about work. I was really grateful to Covid that it extended my working from home period and that looks likely to continue for quite a while. Could you afford to go part-time so it’s not so pressurised? One thing about being ill, it did make me realise that work is not the most important thing, obviously I need to feel secure but I really don’t want to spend the rest of my life commuting and doing too many hours stuck in an office.  Wishing you lots of luck in getting an appointment soon for the rest of your planned surgeries, let us know Liza xx ... Hi, I'm new to this forum too, I've been on Tamoxifen for about 18 months and never seem to be given the same brand twice. Interesting to hear that the Mylan one has been discontinued 'cos I seemed most OK with that one.  I really don't get on with the Wockhardt one, I seem to get more and worse hot flushes/night sweats particularly in the evening. I've got the Relon Chem one at the moment which is OK.  I've kept a note of the fillers of the different brands so it was interesting to see what was in the TEVA ones, my oncologist said most people got on OK with those but they've never had that brand at the chemist when I've picked up my prescription. For anyone who is interested, the Actavis ones (ingredients mentioned by someone earlier) have the same extra ingredients as the Relon Chem ones. The Genesis ones are almost the same but have 'povidone 25' rather than 'povidone' - could be the same thing?? Mylan - mannitol, maize starch, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate. Wockhardt - lactose, maize starch, pregelatinised maize starch, magnesium stearate, methylhydroxypropylcellulose, propylene glycol, Opaspray white (E171 and E464) Tilomed - lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, carmellose sodium, povidone, magnesium stearate, potable water. I'm always interested to hear of any other brands and what's in them, just in case I'm offered them next time, it's all very well me saying I don't want the Wockhardt ones but if another brand has the same fillers then I'd want to avoid that one too.   ... What’s your next steps now lefteye84?? i had my surgery last Thursday, so it’s finally out! 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Just hoping for clear margins before I go in for my reconstruction operation on 23rd July. If they don’t get clear margins it’s a mastectomy with DIEP or a LICAP if I get good margins. Fingers crossed for good margins 🤞🏼 🤞🏼 Really minimal pain from operation (only needed painkillers for 2 days) and just making sure I keep on top of my exercises.  feels like a nightmare this year, and can’t believe we are half way through 2020 already... roll on when I can ring that bell after radiotherapy 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 Xxx   ... Hi Marie, I'm sorry to hear that your sister has had such a hard battle. I’m so glad that she hasn’t had any metastasis.  I too am having some fertility issues, my husband and I were actively trying when I found out the news and I suffered a terrible miscarriage a few months prior to my diagnosis. This year has been one for the books.   My sister has been a great support system for me and is planning on being a surrogate for me as I can’t try again for 5 years due to tamoxifen. 💗 it is so important to have supportive friends and family and I’m sure you mean the world to her as my sister does to me.   love, Dana ... Hello Mockab, Just wanted to say hi.  I was in your shoes back in April 2018, had single mastectomy, node biopsy, then I had chemo and radiotherapy.. so a bit of everything there.  Taking each step at a time is the best way forward.  Trying to look beyond that can be overwhelming.  It is strange when you feel so well yet you know you have this "thing" going on isn't it.   I decided to remain flat on the one side, am quite used to it now, but I have an open door anytime in the future to have reconstruction if I wish. so never say never.    Take care of yourself and take things easy. Hey ladies, Just been reading your posts and was so pleased i wasnt the only one with husband issues.  Im 2 years post diagnosis now but during treatment hubby never showed his emotions, found it hard to hug me or discuss emotional stuff.  He was a brilliant support though and helped around the house etc.  At the time i would get so frustrated with him and its only now the dust has settled ive learnt how scared he was and he just couldn't show it to me as he had to be the strong one.  He has said that it is so hard going from husband to carer and then back to husband again..id never thought of that.  I wish he would have talked to someone about it all, and possibly he did just not me.   I had a single masectomy with no recon and its taken a while for him to look at that too.  Strangely i never had a problem with it. So husbands are a funny breed and as individual as this bloody cancer i guess.   Asda is my go to for post op bras too.  And mens shirts are perfect post op. Hi Faithy, Im on Tamoxifen too, have been for approximately 18 months now.  I definitely find different brands affect me more, both physically and mentally.  I have very stiff sore joints, hips, knees, hands, feet etc.  I used to feel best on Teva brand but i believe from research and searching chemists that this brand is no longer available.  Its worth seeing if you can switch back to the original brand and see if that helps.  There are lots of ladies on here who have problems with brands too.  My nurse recommended taking supplements to help, she suggested magnesium and zjnc, glucosamine and chondroitin.  I do take these and am still stiff but who knows if i would be worse without.  Always check with your docs if you can take the supplements though as they could  react with any other drugs you take.
