Hi all, Sorry I have been so quiet. Had last T last week and so feel like I am coming out of the fog a bit now. Mouth feels rubbish and definite aches and pains but the biggest thing seems to be tiredness (I feel exhausted by everything at the moment). Currently waiting for CT scan and will be tattooed later today and then rads start on October 9th. Feels like I am on a run away train that just doesn’t stop!!! Reddi - thanks for sharing your story of your mum, you’re right about being strong and resilient (both us and our children). Mine are only 6 and 8, and being a single parent I worry about how much we are all holding in to protect each other (or maybe I am thinking too much!). Morning all, It’s crazy o clock in the morning and I can’t sleep (steroids), but in good news I am scheduled to have my last chemo (T) tomorrow!! Morning all, Day 10 after T2, and back at work (shortened days and not really doing much), still injecting the Filgrstrim at night and taking lots of paracetamol throughout the day / night. Not yet n as much pain as the T1, and feel much better (relatively). I had a very low day yesterday after reading about Rachel Bland, I can’t bear the fact that she has such a young child, it’s so sad. I guess we all have to live whilst we can, cease the day and all that!! I have booked myself in for some counselling in October as I feel that mentally I am feeling worse as the treatment goes on (think I am sicker now than I was at diagnosis in April!)... Oh no LJ, sorry to hear that you are hospital, I hope you at least have a bed and have moved from your trolley!!! Are they giving you a clue about when you might be able to leave?? KTK, how are you doing? I am also suffering with the T trots (which I didn’t have on the first cycle), this doxetaxel really is the gift that keeps giving isn’t it! My mouth feels like I have no taste and very sore and dry. No nail pain yet though. I start the injections tomorrow evening and so will see what pain and head fog that brings! Hi all, Been awake since 4, well awake at midnight, then 1.30 then 4! Ah bloody steroids! CDC, sending hugs, it’s so hard having children and going through this isn’t it? This time will pass and just take each moment as it comes. Sorry you couldn’t eat with your OH - that must have been hard for both of you! LJ sorry to here about your hospitalisation. But glad you’re out now, take it easy and be kind to yourself! I am due this morning for my second cycle of T, absolutely dreading it but have been fasting to see if it makes a difference to side effects - I will let you know if it does!!! I had no taste and a bit sore but my worst symptom was the back pain and headaches! But I think that was due to the injections rather than the chemo... but I don’t know??? Have an oncologist appointment tomorrow and will see if there’s an alternative to the injections... I am dreading the next T, I feel as though I have only just started feeling normal again. Hi all, Just wanted to check in. Kip, sorry to hear you are suffering, it’s a real shocker isn’t it! And seems to last much longer than the FEC side effects! But I can say that 2 weeks after the chemo I feel back to normal again and my taste has completely come back. Kellie, glad you enjoyed the LGFB session, it’s definitely worth doing. That’s brilliant Ali! I also have/had lobular cancer and was told due to it not responding well to chemo that I had to have mastectomy first (which I did), but now suffering 6 rounds of chemo for the ‘clear up’ process!!! I do wonder what would have happened if I did the chemo first ..... esp with fasting! Def think fasting helps- have had 3 rounds of FEC in a fasted state and managed very well and then had 1 round of T in a non fasted state and suffered horrendously !!! Sorry to hear that Kellie, I know what it feels like to think that you can’t get the planned treatment. I am sure that you’ll be fine next week and you’ll get back on track. Can you do something nice this week? I tell you what since having my PICC line I really wished I had swum more before I got it!!! Everyone (including doctors) keep telling me what brilliant exercise swimming is and I haven’t Veblen able to do it firstly cos of the mastectomy and then due to the PICC line!!!!! Just think, we are over half way through the chemo hell..... glad you got it done (sounds just like my experience last week with the bloods coming back low and then having another test etc) I am okay today but in terrible pain yesterday so stopped the injections, rang the hospital and they told me to take pain killers. But have spoken to my nurses today and they want me to continue the injections starting tonight (so dreading it). Rang into work sick today and just had to write a mail saying I won’t be there till Thursday at the earliest now!!! Injections finish on Wednesday. I would say it’s great if you don’t have the filgrastum injections, definitely seems to be causing the pain. Anyway hoping that by the end of this week I will feel normal again? So day wasn’t as long as I had expected. After all the delays, the chemo started at 12, and after 90 mins, I was all done. Had to learn how to inject myself (dreading it), but apart from that, it was better than expected. Don’t feel too bad and no pain yet. Hoping for some sleep tonight. Cdc- I have had acupuncture at the Haven, really nice guy, spent ages talking about my and my girls Chinese horoscope signs etc, was very interesting!!! Anyway going to try and get some sleep, Xx ... Congratulations Sally, glamorous Granny !!!! Just think 2019 will be a good year! Xxx So I am sitting in the unit, white blood cell on Friday are too low and so they are doing another test- so haven’t even started yet...... haven’t taken my EmEnd as nurse says is might be all delayed for a week, and I have taken loads of steroids already so will be annoyed if it gets delayed!
