HI Have been on Tam since Dec07, put on 2 stone during my treatment. It has taken me a year to lose 1 1/2 stone ... only 1/2 to go. I have increased my five a day to 8 a day have no sugar and follow a low fat diet . In the last 6 month I have increased exercising , now cycle and swim . HI Sorry to here about your op cancellation.Happened to me before xmas08. waited all day for the op then cancelled at the end of the day , was really upset as I was looking forward to it!!!(had a mastectomy in 07) and had made all my arrangments with work. I had to wait two weeks to before I had another date , and finally had a becks inplant in Jan09. The hospital have a target to do the op within 28 days of the cancelled date , if they cancel you ,so you wont go to the bottom of the list. HI Lienna I had a mastectomy in 2007 and had a beckers breast inplant six weeks ago . I always write down key questions that I want to ask at all my appointments ,as my brain goes like jelly ...not good. I had an inital appointment with the surgeon and he gave me all the options which would suit me pros cons etc. I asked to see some photos of the recon surgery he was offering me , just to see what recon breasts looked like. I wanted to know the pros and cons , recovery times for each procedure . I asked where the scars would be for each operation. I then had two months to think about things and then had a final consultation with my PS and then went on the waiting list . During this time I discussed options with the Recon Nurse Specialist , this emabled me prepare for my final consultation One question that the surgeon asked me was to think about " how much surgery was I prepared to go through for a recon ?" After much thought I went for the implant because of my breast size (34 b)and the fact that I was too scared to go through any long operations. Hi All I have been on Tamoxifen for 18 months so thought I would apply. My brill GP sent me an excemption form to complete ,Which I did on Feb 4th. My excemption card arrived last week , but I cannot use it until April. My sister also has BC and asked her chemist for a form and GP signed it for her and her card has arrived I am really pleased ...if your card arrives after April you can claim back afterwards , just ask your chemist for a refund form Good luck Ladyin pink xx ... HI Rarebird similar experience to Debs ...ovaries removed as a day case .Key hole surgery done at 8.30 back onthe ward around 11 and home at 5pm. only took paracetamol for a couple of days and then fine. my hot sweats got worse after about a month after surgery. Dear All I never thought I would be saying this , but was pleased to return to work last week . I have been off sick for 10 weeks ( no chemo/ rads) and I am now doing a phased return . I also work in the NHS and my manager has been fantastic. I will be taking some outstanding annual leave in March to help me gradually return to full time work . I felt woolly headed on the first day ( forgot my password to open my pc) and tired in the evening . Hello everyone Thanks for your replies, I forgot to mention that I am 46 and have just returned to work PT. I have my next hospital appointment in March so I will discuss with my consultant the possibility of an PS referral.
