Hi there, Thanks for your post! I went to my doctor (a different one) she couldnt feel either lump although she did say the first one must be there as I had had a biopsy. So she sent me for a non urgent referall. I was seen last Wednesday by the same consultant. He felt the second lump, yes he could feel it, but said it was "nothing to worry about just a lump". And referred to my age (which is 39) Im not sure why he did this. I wish now I had asked what he meant by just a lump. I would have more peace of mind if it had a name or I had been offered a scan. So I asked to be put on the waiting list for removal of first lump. I had been told this would be several months.I was very suprised to get a phone call from the hospital this morning and my surgery is scheduled for Monday! Thats just over a week. So Im a bit nervous now. None the wiser for my second lump but at least one is going to be removed and I guess I will have to trust the consultant that the other is just a lump and nothing to worry about. Hi Yvonne & Tracy, Well I was trying to ignore but knew that was stupid. I just didnt feel like going through the whole thing again.. but have made my doctors appointment now and is on Monday late afternoon. Thanks for responding. I shall keep you posted. Juliet x

Hi, Im so sorry you going through this on top of having to worry about your lump. When I lost my partner I realised that people just dont act the way we think they will and can be very unkind. And we can waste so much time wondering "why?". When I went to have my core biopsy very good friends of mine did not bother texting even. I have learnt that people do not always act the way we would. But we need to know that that is their problem. Yes its hurtful but it is a flaw in her character NOT yours. If you can, focus on all the good you have in your life, the people that do love you AND show it. Dont waste your energy on those that are still struggling within themselves. Because it is just a waste of energy. She acted wrong and you will never be able to understand her motives, chances are she doesnt either (but I go along with the possibility jealousy is in there!). Keep your energy for yourself and those around you. Take care Juliet x

Hi everyone, I have posted on the have I got BC discussion but think its probably better that Im on this one! I found a lump in March and went to my doc was referred, had a mammogram, ultrasound and core biopsy. Went back 2 wks later and was (thankfully!) told it was a fibroadenoma and it was not necessary to have it removed though I could if I want by going to my doc and being put on a waiting list. Which Ive been meaning to do. Ive now noticed a much bigger lump on same breast a few inches away from the other one. I am definitely going to go to the doctors and request have both removed. But my concern is this. I have only just had a mammogram, surely it would have picked up the other lump? Im sure I felt all over at the time in March checking for others and felt nothing. Yet this one is much larger than my first. Do they grow that quickly...? After feeling relaxed and reassured Im now feeling a stressy mess all over again.. Juliet

Hi everyone, I came here a few months ago (thanks for the wonderful support!) I had found a lump and was referred. Had a mammogram, ultasound and core biopsy. Results came back all okay. I was to go back to my doctor to be put on waiting list to have lump removed. I have now discovered another one. Same breast. A few inches away from first one. Different size/shape to first one. One specialist had said to me in her expert opinion I had had this first lump for some time. This second lump must be new surely? Im thinking if it had also been there a while it would have showed up on mamogram and/or ultrasound. Im not sure what Im asking.. I just thought OH NO not again. The idea of going through the whole waiting thing again. A part of me is wondering could I just not have them both removed at the same time? Im worried. And just needed to tell someone. Hi everyone, Thanks for all the advice re having the lump removed or not. I have a few weeks think about but will more than likely opt for it to be gone. Hi Nikki, Thanks for thinking of me! I had mammogram & ultrasound. The doctor said he thinks its benign and a fibrodema so very relieved and pleased. He then said would do a core biopsy which he did, Im assuming thats just to confirm that all is okay. I get the results of that in 3 weeks and decide then whether to have it removed or not. So Im feeling very relieved. Tired, worn out and a bit uncomfortable. But happy!! I know I still need to wait for the biopsy results but I really dont think they would have said thought it benign if they werent really sure so am not feeling worried about that. You take care too! xx

Hi everyone, Well today finally arrived. I had a mammogram & ultrasound. I then saw a doctor and he said he thinks its benign and a fibrodema. YAY! I was SO pleased!! Then he said they would do a core biopsy which they did (that click!!?) and I must come back in 3 weeks for the results and talk about removing the lump. I went from being all pleased thinking its all okay. And Im sure it is. But then started wondering if they think its benign why do the biopsy? Im assuming this is just a precaution to make sure?? I was also wondering if it is benign and Im assuming it is, what are peoples views on removing the lump as opposed to leaving it. I feel very tired now. The stress of the waiting and last night and today has taken its toll. But I feel relief as Im sure if they think its okay then it is. Hi Zena, I would agree with everyone that you should ask your doctor why you have not been referred as urgent. I was and at first that terrified me thinking it was bad but looked up on the net and as said above its the new guidelines. Ive only had to wait 8 days for my apt and I can tell you thats long enough! I really dont know about lump sizes.. mine is about 3cm and deep in and an odd shape sort of oblong I guess. I tell you I have never in my life felt my breast so much.. 🙂 I keep checking is the lump still there, has it changed, or what. I really hope that you get your appointment soon! thinking of you Juliet x

Hi Jojo, Im not sure what my clinic is (its Milton Keynes) but I looked on the website and it said that if you referred you get your results that day. It sounds all okay and Im figuring that my doctor referred me and I got the appointment next day (for the following week) so Im feeling pretty thankful that its all working quite quickly. I just feel wish it could be Wednesday now. Thanks everyone. I will post again when I know whats what. Hugs Juliet

Hi Julie, Thanks so much for your post. Yes I discovered a lump and went to my GP. Im 38 never had any lumps at all before. He referred me to the breast clinic. I know what you mean about friends.. but I have learnt that unless you go through something you dont understand it, but yes, my one friend I said I had been to the doctor and referred and she said yes it best to have a check up. Aaargh!! I know most lumps are benign but it doesnt stop you worrying. And thank you for your advice. I think Im gonna leave telling my son unless there is something to tell.
