Good news, had my operation yesturday, and news is promising, I have to go back on the 24th Dec for results, I did originally sign for a second operation, but Consultant is certain I will not need it. Whew. I had to be there for 8-30am to have a wire inserted, but it turned out that was not needed. I was booked in for the afternoon, it was decided that due to my other health problems I would be awake during the operation. I was a little nervous of this. but need not have been went down at 15-40 and did not feel a thing I had ear phones on, and my face was covered, they inserted a needle and said you might start taking a little strange, I replied well I talk crap anyway. I was listening to music, I could swear I was awake all the way through it, yet I do not remember going through the doors to the theatre, and they said I fell asleep, but I was listening to my Elvis cd, least I think I was. just so happy it all over. the only downside was while waiting to go I spent 7 hours sitting in a chair, they dont provide beds now, I went walkabout a few times, then had to change in side room, leave my bags and they followed me onto a ward, they kept me over night, I quite sore, but very happy, not allowed to hoover or iron for a week etc 😞 =)) cannot think what I going to do with my time =)) =)) =)) . Hi Juliet, Glad you made appointment at doctors. I would think that once you have tests and results they will take both lumps out together, but you do need to get it checked out. Unfortunately I was diagnosed in July 07 and started chemo in Aug then at my last ultrasound before operation in Jan/feb they found another lump ( not showing on mammogram). Def not there before, have had regular scans during chemo, you can imagine panic like you and also how can it be another cancerous lump. Anyway after fna, biopsy etc it was benign a fibroadenoma and I had it removed with original lump, they said prob fast growing, Consultant was going to try and do one incision but as abit far apart I had 2 small incisions but I not worried as long as out. Hi, Im so sorry you going through this on top of having to worry about your lump. When I lost my partner I realised that people just dont act the way we think they will and can be very unkind. And we can waste so much time wondering "why?". When I went to have my core biopsy very good friends of mine did not bother texting even. I have learnt that people do not always act the way we would. But we need to know that that is their problem. Yes its hurtful but it is a flaw in her character NOT yours. If you can, focus on all the good you have in your life, the people that do love you AND show it. Dont waste your energy on those that are still struggling within themselves. Because it is just a waste of energy. She acted wrong and you will never be able to understand her motives, chances are she doesnt either (but I go along with the possibility jealousy is in there!). Anneli - thank you for your post; you & some of the other women on this forum make me feel so humble & completely inspired. I will be so grateful if my lump turns out to be benign; we are reminded daily how precious life is & how we should not worry about the future, but be happy now, in the present.....but will also appreciate that if it is not the outcome I would have hoped for, I can still be positive & will find support from my family & friends & of course , all you lovely ladies here! Thanks yvonne I was waiting for you too post back to me lol hope your doing ok you take care and lets hope everything is okey dokey with you! you fancy coming and changing my beds? i really need to catch up on the house work, ive no excuse now eh i really couldnt have got through these past few weeks without you guys. Hello everyone, Thanks so much for all your support, reassurance and good luck wishes!! I was feeling so scared and alone and reading all your posts has made me realise Im not, so thanks again. I got my appointment yesterday. I go on Wed 5th March. Im no longer worried about the word urgent just completely grateful that I dont have to wait any longer than I do.
