Well done Susie for finishing chemotherapy 🌸🌸🌸 Congratulations to your sporty son Sonia28, he must be very disciplined and dedicated.  Thanks for the good wishes Seasidesar, I enjoy my work and give it my all , hence why 4 days makes sense as I will do stuff from home . When I was FT work seeped into my weekend so it was more like a 7 day working week 🤪 Today , I had to call HR as I was still on sick pay !!!! so they have to fix this pronto. Daisydi so pleased for you and your mum. Nettinoo enjoy Amsterdam. This was another reason I decided to drop a day if this bc returns 5, 10 , 15 or 20 years down the line I don’t want to have spent all my good days at work!!!! Much better day today at work. Getting my 8 hours of sleep helps.  I seem to be eating like a horse to keep the energy levels up.  I always get more hungry when at work. They are going to look at the timetable so that I can drop a day , so I am pleased that I made up my mind and discussed it with them.  Walked Monday, swam yesterday and will use the gym today.  Daisydi I would get all the reiki/ massage I could access if I was in your shoes. Crashed out on my bed. Didn’t sleep well last night due to a police helicopter circling above us and the surrounding area for what seemed like ages. Hope they found whatever they were looking for 😬 Then woke up again at 2 am ( note to self: thermal vest when having hot flushes in the night is a BAD choice of sleeping garment 🤪). Went to work and was very irritable (if another person tells me how my hair has grown back, how well I am doing - the cover teacher had this on repeat today ( Irish : you are doing well Miss! in front of the class) or how good I am looking I may just flip) but held it together ( although I did ask a colleague and friend if people expected me to lie on the floor with my legs in the air at any given moment 😂 ... Evening, interesting posts to catch up on. Bonkers day today at work ( both support staff absent and various kiddies had wobbles) I ate my lunch when I got home at 5 pm. Managed but seriously considering dropping a day instead of returning full time. Went for a good walk to just re-calibrate as it was a glorious evening. My friend was waiting I too keep a very open mind. I also believe in premonitions and gut feelings .  I also have had dreams about events that have come to pass in the future. Love the nails Marlyn ( although for me this would be a long length). Implausible: Can I second Nettinoo’s comment about a good beautician knowing how to use acrylic to fix a nail.  I once had a split thumb nail and the nail lady was able to fix it using acrylic ( it’s a powder that she then turned into a paste and it ‘cemented ‘ my split nail- it actually helped it to heal). She then put gel polish over that. Fab photo Seasidesar, I think your hair looks great. Official hours at school are  Monday (2 .5)+Tuesday (4 ) + Wednesday ( 4) + Thursday 2.5 and Friday (7) = 20 hours. However this doesn’t include the 30 minutes that I arrive earlier every day so it’s more like 22.5. So far so good. Got my eyes tested today and I am getting an improved and more ‘with it’ pair of reading glasses. Car passed its MOT so pleased about this too.  Can’t believe it’s Friday already tomorrow!!! Edinbird , hope the sleeping is better.  I am usually in bed by 8.30 so that I can be up for 6 am. MBJ, how are you? Ocean21 - flower pics please. I like your finger nails Implausible.  I have never had fake ( stick on talons) but I would recommend a manicure with a gel nail polish ( dries instantly, long lasting- the only faff is the removal as they have to wrap them up in foil and then scrub the gel off) they do last for 3 weeks though ( even longer but seeing the growth at the nail bed like a tide mark annoys me so I used to go for a nude colour like ‘bubble bath’ which made my nails look fabulous and grew out so that I didn’t even bother with a salon removal - I actually find it quite boring so I haven’t had a manicure in ages) .  I also remember having a short dark nail one Xmas ( gels again) in a very dark red called black dahlia that was stunning: black dahlia On the word front, last week I said ‘ What do you call the thingy in which you put sellotape so that you can easily find the end and pull it out ‘ 🤪 ... I was shocked about your sister Daisydi the first time you mentioned it.  I am a certified sports diver but haven’t been diving in 20 years and don’t plan to return ( kit got stolen way back : fins, wetsuit - didn’t replace it.) Hey SusieB, I had to respond to this : “ bc is not going to force me to go grey gracefully and show it to the world.” Well this is exactly what I have done ( I will see in December- 6 months post chemo if I wish to colour it or not as I don’t dislike it, if Christine Lagard Head of the IMF can pull it off then so can I 🤪). What got to me on Friday was a colleague at the photocopier saying how she admired me for going ‘au naturel’ - I was very diplomatic in my reply, but when I got home I told my daughter ( she wants me to dye / highlight my hair ASAP and tells me without mincing her words 😂) and I said something along the lines of ‘she - said colleague- needs to look at herself in the mirror first what with her pot belly and wonky teeth , does she also need admiration for going ‘au naturel’ 🤯 What is it with women coming out with ridiculous comments about someone else’s appearance!!!! Beach walk sounds good to me Daisydi. Back at work today and I did a full day ( 8 am till 4.45) . I also sat down with a colleague and drew up a timetable so that we all know when I will be in and for how long ( as opposed to turning up and going on until I have had enough which was vague and not such a great idea - although with good intentions behind it). So Friday will be my full day and all other days are Half or Quarter days .  One day will start at lunchtime. So I am feeling much happier about this phasing in business. As I do have a tendency to keep going and then getting tired and cross. Having the day off yesterday started well Hospital review etc and ended up with me losing my temper with H1 and throwing a glass of water over him as he was cooking. It all started when the kids had got back from school, I got back from my relaxing pedicure and then H1 and K2 got into a play fight tussle which ended up with both of them getting upset and hurt 😱 I was so cross with both of them ( and myself) that I left the house and walked around the park and picked blackberries. I returned 2,hours later to a quiet home with fed kids.  I just did the ironing and went to bed at 10pm. We are all okay today so I am not sure why all hell broke loose yesterday. My daughter thought the whole thing was funny and she got told off by me for finding it funny.  Today the kids got told that they both have to help with the chores and a duty rota has gone up. We used to have one , then they said they knew what they had to do and then it slowly fizzled out to H1 and myself doing most of it. Which is not on. K2 is not allowed to play computer games for more than 1 hour on week days, so he has a long face.  The joys of it all .🤪🤪🤪🤪     ... View more

Hi Edinbird,  I had exactly the same as Daisydi re. rads.  Apart from a red blotch ( that will go away - Doctor said so today in my review) right on my collar bone, every thing was fine . No problems with swallowing and even the fatigue wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Compared to chemo , I would have rads any day!  I am still using my R2 lotion (am and pm) and my boob is fine. The R1 is basically a cooling gel so if you don’t get it I would say that aloe Vera gel applied straight after radiation will work just as well . I enjoyed using both R1/R2 products .Still have plenty so still using them. End of treatment review went well today. I will get called back in December for a mammogram and then it’s monthly checks for 5 years. Doc. said I was very lucky to have an oestrogen driven ‘lazy’ cancer.  Tamoxifen is now blocking the oestrogen so basically just ‘go and enjoy your life ‘ was the message given. Re. Diet I was told I could eat everything in moderation. They were very pro the daily walking and also weight bearing exercises to maintain bone health. Hi MBJ , I have read all the other posts and now feel able to quote H1 further . He is very direct in his mode of speech : ‘1) Half the people on the cruise will be on meds for heart failure.’ ’2) Cardiologists are exceptionally good at talking to their patients in a way that totally terrifies them’. He actually was quite irritated when he was talking to me. I think he sees a lot of patients that have come to him in a state over a diagnosis that has been given to them totally insensitively. I guess in his line of work as a dentist,  he has to be informed of health issues and it seems that there are quite a few practitioners out there who really don’t have a clue as to how to give feedback with freaking out the patient. Well, how is everyone. Seasidesar, you are absolutely right. As I didn’t get out by 1 pm today ( it was 3 pm with another 7.45 start) I told them that as I was going to the Hospital tomorrow I would not be coming in at all. They were absolutely fine with this. Schools are notorious for having a never ending list of jobs that need doing .  I did meet my lovely class. We did our first yoga session ( on mats, on the floor) and the feedback was unanimously positive. The cover teacher was a bit baffled as to why I was there  at all so I had to explain the ‘phasing in ‘ process. Implausible to repeat what the others have said you really do look fabulous. I bet some of the weight gain was fluid retention ( at least this is what my oncologist had prepared me for). Sonia28 and Edinbird, I do hope you get a good nights sleep with reduced aches and pains. Slinking back into the rhododendrons I am defo. an AM person. Have walked. Aim to be at work early tomorrow. I also aim to leave by lunchtime/ 1 pm.  Off to shower then bed. Hi Ladies,  back home today at 4pm having got in to work at 7.45 this morning. I was enjoying myself and at the same time want things to be in place for the students who arrive tomorrow- so the being ‘ phased in’ got a tad de- railed today. Thursday though I will be going in later as I have a Hospital appointment in the morning ( post treatment review with the oncologist). Exercise wise I swam for 15 minutes and did a yoga class 45 minutes yesterday evening. Very chuffed with myself. Slept well. I must stick to getting to bed by 10pm. No excuses.
