Hello, I know exactly how your feeling. I had a routine mammogram and was referred to Breast clinic on February 14th. I had biopsies but was told there and then it was very likely BC. The two weeks waiting for the results to confirm were agony even though I was told before I needed the confirmation. I tried to stay busy and stay positive. I hope your results turn out not to be BC, big hugs xx

I had my WLE/SNB on April 2nd and on the whole I am feeling okay. Pain wasn’t as bad as I expected. I have appointment to see Surgeon and Oncologist next week. The thing I’m surprised at is how tired I’m feeling, I fall asleep every afternoon, I have an underactive Thyroid and take Levothyroxine but my levels were checked pre op and they were okay. Has anyone else experienced this extreme tiredness?

Update panic over, I called BC nurse and the wire sticking out was in fact a nylon stitch, I wasn’t aware I had a stitch in the wire area, so relieved. Feel a little stupid now.

I had my wire guided wide local excision & sentinel node biopsy yesterday, which went well and I was home in the early evening. The pain was manageable although sleeping on my back wasn’t easy and I was waking up almost on the hour extremely thirsty. I do have one concern the I had a wire to assist with the location of the lump but it seems some of the wire is still in my breast as I can feel it sticking out, is this in case I need further surgery?

Hi I was diagnosed on Valentine’s Day and I felt the same way, wanted to cry, scream etc. I've since seen consultant and had a bunch of tests and I have an operation date of April 2nd, and I feel a lot calmer. Hope things improve once things get moving for you. Take care xx

I received a call from one of the breastcare nurses, who advised my lumpectomy operation is to be on April 2nd.I still can’t believe this is all happening, so far I have put on this brave face, acting as though I’m fine, I think really I’m bottling all my emotions up and soon they will explode out, I haven’t cried because I don’t want to upset those close to me, but I want too cry, is that weird ? It helps just to write this down, even if no one reads it, thank you.......

Today I received a phone call from one of the breastcare nurses who gave me the date of my Lumpectomy, April 2nd, I will be seeing my consultant week after next to go through the details and also will give me chance to ask questions. What sort of questions should I be asking? This is all so new and I’m still getting used to the fact that I have BC. Thank you.

Your story is similar to mine, except I did not feel my lump it was detected during a routine mammogram. Its very hard to stay calm but try and be patient, the waiting is the worst. Once you have biopsy results things will move quite fast if Bc is found. Good Luck.

I am sorry your going through this, I agree it’s the waiting that is the worst. I was told on February 14th I had lobular cancer, and since then I’ve had a MRI, US, and contrast mammogram. I am waiting on appointment to get full results and treatment plan. So more waiting. Like you I’m stressing. Try to stay positive. ❤️

Things are moving on now, I saw consultant on Friday, he confirmed the diagnosis, and has ordered further mammogram, MRI, and blood tests. Bloods were done same day, and MRI is this afternoon 😮

Biopsy results day! I have lobular breast cancer at the moment I’m told it’s 14mm, stage 2, but will need an MRI to confirm size and grade. I have an appointment to see a consultant tomorrow so will get more information regarding surgery timescales etc. At the moment I feel as though I’m in nightmare waiting to wake up. I suppose it takes time ti sink in.

I don’t know how I made it through the last two weeks, each day that gets nearer to the biopsy results day has been hell. I hate the not knowing, but then will the knowledge be worse? The doctor at the Breast center was almost certain that the lump found on the mammogram and ultrasound is BC, but having it confirmed well that’s it then, what next ? Sorry for the negative post just needed to vent a little. I will of course update once I have my results.

Hi mac51 Its crazy isn’t it, there were times I would give anything for time to veg out and watch tv but I can’t concentrate on anything. I have never been a patient person, even as a child. Hope all goes well for you.
