Thank you for taking the time to write such a well-articulated piece. You echo my own sentiments exactly. I'm afraid that it's not just the younger ones who do this..my 'experienced' and mid-forties oncologist not only made it obvious that she hadn't read my notes but only did NHS Predict because I asked her to (I had already done it so I knew the result). In the face of the small amount of risk reduction which would ensue, she rail-roaded me into agreeing to take ET which I don't want. I will re-discuss but I have no confidence in her opinion and anyway she told me what 'they' had decided at MDT. Just pure laziness in my opinion. I will decide but I am not feeling inclined to poison myself for five years and cause different damage to my body when my life expectancy looks adequate anyway.
