Thank you Jill. I guess these highs and lows will become somewhat normal. Since my original diagnosis, I found this and other forums with such supportive women and encouraging stories. I've seen the possibilities but the thought of a (not sure what you call a separate, not met, cancer) lung cancer is tough. I lost my own mom, albeit in 1986, after only 4 months diagnosed advanced lung cancer. Hers was so advanced (strong mom ignored symptoms) and not much in the way of treatment options back then. I actually am hoping it's Mets, as the Dr. stated also, because I guess there are so many roads we can take to stop this monster. It seems like everyone else had immediate surgeries though to get rid of primary breast mass while I wonder what damage, if any, this is doing while I sit and wait. It's approx 6.5 x 2 x5.7 or so cm and has a 2-3" open wound under the breast that I get to look at, clean and care for daily. I just want it GONE. Thanks for listening and have a great day.

No treatment or surgery yet while every possible scan/blood test has been done. Yesterday PET scan to investigate lung nodules and 1 larger 2-3 cm. node that they think might be a separate cancer. Doc called (scare in itself) and said bilateral extensive nodules had "low-level PET activity" but larger nodule needs a needle biopsy to determine if it's a met or a separate cancer. Also suspect Bone Mets to upper left thigh (they said stress fracture), near hip, and fracture to upper left arm. I don't have any pain and would expect I should. Has anyone else gone thru this? They've ordered a needle biopsy and are trying to get it pushed thru quickly. This obviously has me scared as they've not seemed in a hurry up to now.....original Grade 1, Stage 2 IDC on 4-24-19. They seemed positive about an aggressive chemo tx, surgery and more chemo until they found it spread. Can they stop lung cancer while treating the E+, P-, HER-2 neg mass? I feel like every test puts me closer to 6 feet under, right when I'm hearing positive stories from those of you online, Sorry to sound negative tonight. I have been standing strong and defiant to this garbage, and keeping it together for my husband and sons. Any positive feedback, experience with anything similar. Thank you in advance!!!!

littlep, I'm going to tag along with you on your question. I just received my CA 15-3 results while awaiting scheduling of a PET scan to further investigate bone/lung met possibility. My score was 58. I don't know how this rates on a "not too bad for a starting point" or "up there but might drop once treatment starts". Anyone understand the numbers. IDC grade 1, stage 2 before they saw MRI/CT suspicious bone and lung pictures.

fc, I can relate. Newly diagnosed and don't get out much so no circle of friends to tell. I just want someone, anyone to tell but afraid they'll see it as my wanting sympathy or a pity-party. I just want to say it out loud so maybe I can begin to better accept it. I drove home from my recent appt with more negative details and started to cry. I stood tough at the Dr's office though because I want him to know that I refuse to give up before the battles even begun. I fear if I start crying too my family will see it really is affecting me, emotionally too. Maybe a good cry would help get alot out. Anyone out here have any suggestions for us?

drummer, right there with you! Although I'm a bit older, 57. I've was diagnosed near about you, lots of tests with dribbling-in results. No treatment yet and, yeah, it's more than stressful wondering how things are/are not progressing while awaiting something to stop this garbage or slow it down...whatever. Not much of a "woman support" for me as all guy family but 1 young grand daughter and family in another state. I'm in Colorado. I'm here for you if you need someone at the same stage and frustration.

I've been searching the comments for people with similar situations who seem to be doing fine. I have IDC with known lymph involvement and imaging that shows extensive nodules in both lungs, finger-like structures threatening my chest wall and suspicious "stress fracture" on my upper thigh bone and fracture (don't understand how I wouldn't know)of my mid-upper arm bone.I keep wondering why they won't do the mastectomy to at least stop the 6.5cm x 2.1 x 5.7 mass on my chest to stop it while I wait for the PET scan they have now ordered and need approval for. You have had SBC in lung, bones, and now brain. It is survivable?! I just keep looking at all these things adding up and nothing being done to stop any of it and wonder if I'll be here in a year. Sorry to be negative sounding but the more they find the more scared I become. Any advice or positive feedback on what you've experienced with these mets.

Thank you funnyface. New here and scrolled thru to see if any similar situations. I was staged at 2 with IDC to lymph nodes in April but CT/MRI/Bone Scan results I got today showed many nodules throughout both lungs and suspicious sites in my humourus(mid arm) and near my left hip. They're ordering a PET scan to get a better look and probable biopsy of my lung nodules to confirm mets or if it's a new cancer. Your post gave me hope.

First, thank you ladies for responding so quickly and welcoming me. Your support is invaluable. The appt. did not go so well. Need a PET Scan now to see if past bone fractures/stress fractures are metastasis (?) or prior injuries/aging that I know I suffered. Also many lung nodules all over both lungs and small pleural area that they will biopsy after the scan identifies best area to do. Held out hope. Do you ever question your Dr.? I'd like to think the bone areas aren't involved. Now I get to wait more. I feel good though, no pain. Hard to believe this is happening. Any of you get negative response from Dr. only to have it turn out to be wrong? Anyway, thanks again for being here.

Hi, 1st time here. I'm bouncing all over. E.R. (for ulceration under breast, obvious "mound" I knew was there but had no insurance up to 2019) Ultrasound/biopsy 4-15, sent me to surgeon who said chemo to shrink, lumpectomy (his preference), and more chemo. 4-24 oncology gave me grade & stage (spoke mastectomy-ok w/ me at 57) then on to MRI, Bone Scan and CT and Echocardiogram. I go in this morning to get the new staging. Fearful to say the least. I smoke and the E.R. visit 3-31-19 saw nodules. How do they tell if metastasis or just something already there prior? I've read available reports and bone/organs look good but MRI wasn't available to see yet. Trying to not worry and let Dr. give me the low-down but w/3 boys, 1 graduating tomorrow, and 3 grandkids and moderately active til now I am so afraid. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. I'll be back once I know the full story, maybe later today. Thank you again.
