I am so sorry to read this and it sounds like you’ve had such a shock. I was diagnosed originally in July 2013 and with my secondary January 2017 of which it also has spread to my liver. I was put on an oral chemo Capecitabine of which I think is a much more doable chemo from the intravenous ones.  I’ve had some side effects  but not horrendous, my hair thinned a lot but it hasn’t gone completely this time. I’m am lucky to be still on my first line of treatment after 3 years and at first my lesion reduced in size considerably but I thhink I’ve been stable now for nearly 2 years. I hope this reassures you a little and once you’ve got your head around things you will learn to live with this as your new normal. I’m so sorry of your diagnosis, my diagnosis quite similar to you as it’s in my liver too. I was diagnosed January 2017, I can say that in the last 3 years I’ve had my ups n downs but I’m generally well, I was put on oral chemo Capecitabine which yes has side effects but I think are much more doable than a intravenous chemo.  What plan have you got in place?  ... Hi   yes i have 2 cats who are brother n sister are nearly 12 called Toffee and Treacle as we got them near bonfire night and they are of the same colouring of toffee and treacle.  I also have a 5 yr old dog named Buddy he’s a cross with a Bichon Frisée and a Jack Russell he is soooooo cute with his curly hair. We got him at 1 yr old after my treatment had finished for my primary diagnosis and he got me back in my feet and built me up by taking him on walks, he was and is my saviour as I can’t walk as far with him now but he’s still a reason to get out every day, he gives me so much joy. I love my cats but it’s a different relationship you get from them. It makes me smile every time I think about my pets and that’s what life is all about, smiling is such good medicine. 😀 ... I’m sorry that you weren’t offered a scan but on my primary diagnosis I had a CT scan and a Bone scan and an MRI on my boobs. Cancer cells can lay dormant in your bod6 for years and only a5 a certain stage will chemotherapy kill those cells so after I’d had my chemo/radiotherapy I thought that was it, only to find out 4 years down the line I had Mets to my liver. I had numerous  blood clots in my lungs after starting Capecitabine and I am too on daily injections. It’s been about 18 months since I was diagnosed with them so they should be all dissolved now I hope, my breathing is greatly improved but it did leave a part of my lung damaged and not repairable. On the whole I don’t feel it affects me greatly now I still get breathless when I exert myself too much ie going up hills.  How long have u had yours? Hi Rachel  im so sorry that you’ve been struggling with your pain. A brief description of myself I have a liver met and before I was diagnosed yes I experienced exactly the same pain as you, onc3 diagnos3d and treatment started my tumour shrank from 56mm to 31 mm I’m on oral chemo Capecitabine, I now don’t have much pain at all but I have also been diagnosed with osteoporosis in my spine of which the pain is awful so I’m on Zomorph tablets, amitriptyline and top up of oramorph as and when needed and this seems to keep me pretty much ok throughout the day. Maybe a suggestion of the Zomorph may help as this is a slow release of morphine over 12 hours (I take 2 a day) and there are different strengths of this. I have been told by my SBC Nurse and oncologist is that there is no need to be in pain so keep telling your doctor and insist on trying other things until they find something that helps your pain.  I hope you get this sorted quickly as I know how debilitating it is when you are in constant pain. 💓 😘 ...
