Thanks Jill. That's so true. I honestly feel that way too. It is hard on everyone around me too and they probably don't know what to say to help. I am a big talker but I've never really been someone to talk about serious emotional stuff I've always kept it in. I know it's not healthy though. Writing it all down on this site, your replies and reading everyone else's experiences has been helping me loads. Thanks again. X

I went to see doctor today and she told me that the only information that they had was that it was still under review. She had a look at the site I was a bit worried about and said it doesn't look like there's an infection of any kind and tried to put my mind at rest but its really hard. Said that my breast might still feel bit lumpy due to biopsy. She said any concerns I have I must discuss with them on friday. She apologized for not being able to say more right now and said I hope all is ok Friday. I'm really emotional today now as it's been so long and getting really snappy with everyone in the house. My mum wanted to know why I'd gone to the doctors today and I tried explaining but she elderly and gets confused and doesn't always remember everything I've told her. She said there's obviously nothing wrong they would have done something by now. I just got really upset and tried to not show it and said yes hopefully. She cant help being forgetful and confused about things but think it was the icing on the cake today. I'm getting so frustrated because mums not the only one to have said that it's probably nothing to worry about. I know I should be thinking maybe it's nothing to worry about but It doesn't stop me worrying. Think I need a good cry to get it out of my system a bit. Roll on Friday. ( as long as they don't cancel again!) . Think I'd set up camp outside if they did.

Yeah I'll definitely do that. I'd rather go Monday because it's a female doctor that I've seen before and I will feel more comfortable with her. Would have gone sooner otherwise. Maybe she'll have other information as well. I'll let u no how its goes. Xx

Hi Jill. Thank you for replying. I know that my nurse is off, she had already told me that originally before my cancellation that i would have been seeing a different nurse Friday. But it was this appointment that was cancelled so I'm guessing the other nurse is off sick. I know this sounds stupid, but I'd feel like a nag if I rang nurse back again. I was thinking of making an appointment to see my gp on Monday to have a look and get her opinion. If she thinks it's anything to worry about perhaps she can let clinic know. I definitely want someone else to have a look before 4th October though. I'm not sleeping well again either because of my worrying. I guess it's only natural though. Thanks again, and thank you for advice. I'll shall keep you updated. Xx

Hi all. I had an appointment made for me this friday for another mammogram and possible biopsy depending on mammogram results. It's now been 4 weeks since last biopsys and I've only had the results from one of those. Nurse has told me that after another consultant had looked at results they do feel it could be less worrying but I will need another mammogram to confirm this. Obviously another biopsy will be needed if mammogram shows anything else. I'm still quite confused though because they still havent said what they thought it was and what they think it is now. Hope I making sense. I rang nurse back this morning because I noticed that although nearly all the bruising had gone the was one spot just under the inconclusive biopsy that looked more like a clump of small freckles which I didn't have before. She did say it could just be a bit of bruising that's still there but they will have a look on Friday. Later on I had a phone call from another nurse to say that she was really sorry but they've had to cancel my appointment Friday due to sickness and being short staffed. I've been given another appointment the friday after. I feel completely deflated and so fed up now. It will be 5 weeks since 1st biospys by the time I go back for mammogram etc. I think I will have a long list of questions with me as well. Has anyone else experienced this long waiting with inconclusive results before? I'm going out of my mind waiting.

Hi all. I had a call from nurse today to let me know that she had spoken to consultant and that it's looking like I will have to have another biopsy done on inconclusive site that I had original biopsy done. The consultant needs to discuss this with another consultant 1st though so nurse said she will ring me friday to let me know and probably with a date for another biopsy. I'm bit nervous bout it to be honest and anxious bout the waiting again. I know that they are being very thorough and that's good but i cant help worrying. I wont know anymore until after the next biopsy and I'm trying my hardest to be positive and hope that it's nothing to worry about but it's really difficult. Just trying to keep myself and my brain occupied with other stuff.

Hi Narnia Thanks for asking how things are going. I had a phone call from nurse last Friday to say that she was really sorry for the wait but she still hadn't heard back from the consultant yet. She said she would ring me Monday ( tomorrow) if there's any news. She said she wasn't even sure if they'd had a meeting yet and if they haven't I wont know anything till Friday. She was very apologetic and said how sorry she was that I was having to wait again. I'm guessing that there is probably a backlog because the consultant has been on leave. So I'm waiting again. 😪 . I shall let you know if there any news tomorrow. X

Hi everyone. To start off with I like to apologise to Narniagirl for asking if you had your results yet, when this is something you've already gone through and i didn't realise sorry. I am so grateful that you took the time to reply, give good advice and a sympathetic ear and hope that you are okay. I had a phone call today regarding my biopsy results from the nurse. She said that they had results back and that from the two biopsys I had done, the one at the top of my breast ( where they left a clip) the results showed fibroadenoma ( which is non cancerous). With the second biopsy taken from the side of my breast the results aren't clear as they don't correspond with the mammogram. The consultant that I'm under is away on leave at the moment and will be back a wk today. The nurse said they obviously need to speak to consultant before they decided what to do next but nurse said this could either mean another mammogram or possibly another biopsy. Either way I don't mind if it means peace of mind. I was supposed to have an appointment for my results next Tuesday ( day that me and my partner going away for couple of days) and nurse did say I could keep that appointment jf I wanted to if I had any questions but as she'd had already explained everything though it would be better to wait for consultants opinion. Nurse said she would ring me next Friday to let me no what the next plan is. I'm so relieved about 1st biopsy findings but obviously still bit anxious about inconclusive results on other. I'm quite glad though I'm not getting results the day we go away now. I'm just going to try put it at the back of my head until we get back.

Hi Narniagirl. Thank you so much for your reply. I'm so glad I found this forum. It's helps to know Im not alone and if I need to waffle on I can. It's difficult at the moment not knowing results. I've had to tell my partner and daughter because I needed help to look after mum after my biopsys but I don't want to express my fears to them as they are worried too, if that makes any sense. I'm trying to keep myself busy ( although looking after mum is non stop most of the time anyway). It's the nights when my partners gone to work and my mum has gone to sleep that my mind starts racing and like you said I'm sometimes convincing myself it's the worst and then thinking it couldn't be because I don't feel ill. I have been under a great deal of stress over the last year so my mental health hasn't been great but physically I've been ok appart from menopausal flushes etc. It's good to know there somebody with medical knowledge and personal experiences I can talk to on this site as well if I need too. I didn't realise there were so many different kinds of breast cancers and how individual each 1 is. I've learnt alot over the last few weeks. Also realised not to try and search to much on the internet. I have got an app on my phone called calm which I used to use that I think I will start using again. Hopefully help me sleep a bit better until next wk when I know more. Thank you again for all advice and I do hope you are okay. Have you had results? Daisychain xx

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum and having trouble sleeping because of worrying bout my biopsy results which I will get a week today. I guess it really all started last year when I went to my GP because I noticed swelling under my left armpit. The doctor did an examination and said she couldn't feel any lumps but would send me for a mammogram anyway. I waited quite a while for appointment and 3 months later had a mammogram and ultrasound scan under my arm. The doctors there told me that nothing untoward was showing and that I probably had extensive breast tissue that some women can get, and to wear sports bras. I was very relieved and just ignored it after that even though it was still there. I turned 50 last year and 5wks ago received a letter to have a mammogram because of my age. After having the mammogram I had a letter asking me to return for more tests. I had more tests done last wk which included 2 core biopsys. The staff there were lovely but told me that there were 2 changes showing in the mammogram in my left breast. One was 9mm and the other was 7mm and that I would need core biopsys on both to find out what it was with a clip inserted into 9mm sight so that if they need to go back in they know the exact spot . I guess I was worrying because none of the nurses or doctors were saying it could be a cyst or maybe nothing to worry about. I can't help thinking now that the swelling under my left arm is my lymph node and that it's swollen because I have breast cancer as has been for a while but they just didn't pick it up last year. My partner is coming with me next week to get my results and on the same day we are travelling to Cornwall for a 3 day holiday. If it is bad news I'm worried that I'm going to spend the whole time crying but I'm also thinking maybe it might help me and my partner come to terms with the news if it's bad. I'm a full time carer for my eldery mother who lives with us and has alot of health issues. We had arranged some respite for my mum while we go on a short break next wk for my birthday. I have been finding it more and more difficult coping with caring for my mum over the last few months and had been thinking of finding a permanent suitable nursing home for her but couldn't bring myself to tell her. I'm wondering now if I may have no choice at all if I'm told I have cancer. I'm sorry it's like I'm writing an essay here. I guess it helps just writing it all down and knowing other women are in a similar situation waiting for results. I've only told very close family until I know more. It's awful waiting though.
