Hi all   i had to finish my Paclitaxel treatment early due to peripheral neuropathy which was a bit of a shock to say the least.  i have just started 4 weeks of radiotherapy which is fine but in the current climate a bit of an additional worry. Having herceptin injections too and also on tamoxifen. Quite the roller coaster.  mood is all over the place. Hair is growing back at a rate of knots!!   is it normal to feel strange and in limbo? I’ve just upset the family as they were all gently teasing me about general stuff and I didn’t take it well. Normally I’d join in on the joke but not today. Hi all   can I ask what headwear people are wearing around the house and at bedtime? I am thinking bamboo beanie or cashmere?! Having held on to my hair during the first cycle it has now decided to leave me ahead of round two today. I have thick curly hair which is now a matted mess and distributed all around the house 🙄. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to deal with it today. Did anyone out there shave their own off or did you go to a salon.  on an aside note I too had the injections and suffered the bone pain and whilst it was awful I found paracetamol worked for me and quite quickly too. Lovely to see so much positivity on here. You ladies are rocking fundraising, awareness and hairloss!!   My injections are nivestim. I had the searing bone pain in my jaw and back. It’s still lingering but my god. It was like early labour pain 😩   is anyone else constantly taking their temperature 🤒? I’m getting through those covers like no ones business!! And my ears differ quite a bit in range.  I think I have spoken to the unit at least once a day since I started. I feel like im being a nuisance. But I’ve ended up in a and e twice already. Hi purpletrunks   When did you have treatment? They thought I couldn’t possibly be neutropenic as that usually kicks in after 10 days or so.  sorry you’re feeling so crappy. I have got the family cold so taking my temperatures every hour. Convincing myself I’m fine 🙂    im glad it’s not just me then. I dread going to bed as I always feel more anxious then. I will let you all know on the course. It comes right before my next round so no doubt I’ll need it by then!!   not to scare you all but please keep an eye on your temps. I ended up in a and e last night (not bad for less than 24 hours into your first round 😳). I’m fine and they were amazing but never think you are being a nuisance. I had the cold cap and i found it’s surprisingly ok 😃. We just have to wait to se if it works. I’ll keep you posted.  I feel fine now. Hi claire   like you I’ve had my eyebrows done. They were really dark but I’m really pleased how they have worked out now.  I had two nurses try around 4 times each to sort my picc. Cried when I got home. I just need a good nights sleep to prep me for tomorrow    I’m going for the cold cap. Anyone else doing the same? ... View more

Hi Everyone   I am an October chemo starter. I found a lump (turned out to be two) back in May and it all escalated very quickly from there. I have had two lumpectomy operations, and thankfully my nodes were clear. I'm ER+, HER2+.   I have felt really strong but now the big day is looming (Friday for me), I'm a bag of nerves and feel totally unprepared. I'm having 4 x EC_Paclitaxel, every 3 weeks, and then 12 more lots every week. I'm having Trastuzumab too.   What kit do i need? And what are the must do's and don'ts? Apologies as this is repetitive of lots of peoples questions. I'm going to try the cold cap although I have not been given an overwhelming sense of optimism about this.   I have two young kids, and a fantastic husband, family and friends network of support too.   Is it strange just to want to get on with it now and know what I'm up against?     ...
