Breast Cancer Now Forum

I had a bilateral nipple sparring mastectomy a week ago and upon removing my dressing two days ago there was a lot of redness on my right breast. My surgeon did not think it could be an infection because typically infection doesn’t set in until day 10 and this was day 6. He thinks it will clear up once the area receives more air. I think you just need to worry if you spike a fever or if the redness is hot to the touch. I will keep you updated on what happens at this weeks appointment. Best of luck! ... View more
