Finished chemo, surgery and radiotherapy. Now on dose 10 of 17 Herceptin. I recently had a fall and am not managing to cope with the resultant injury. Based on years of experience, I know that one deep tissue massage would resolve it. Problem is that I'm not eligible for treatment due to Covid. I wonder how long it takes for the immunosuppressed period to pass after an injection of Herceptin? Given the extent of the problems arising from my musculoskeletal injury, I am considering postponing the next Herceptin injection in order to restore my immune system. Obviously this is something I will discuss with my oncology team, but I wonder if anyone can offer any feedback in the meantime - I'd be really grateful.

I've been through six rounds of chemo and am now 16 days post surgery - lumpectomy and full axillary clearance. Surgery was a breeze physically, but within one week I developed a huge seroma under my arm which is sufficiently serious to require drainage every two days. A week following surgery, the cording started and this was closely followed by the appearance of an area of cellulitis which stretches from the 'lower' side of the axillary scar across my breast. (I've been prescribed Flucloxacillin 250mg - is this strong enough? This was prescribed by my BCN and I wonder if it should have been 500mg?) Yesterday it became clear that lymphoedema was developing on my upper arm. I'm due to see my breast nurse this afternoon for more drainage and will discuss what happens re the lymphoedema. I can't believe that I've developed four post-operative complications so quickly - does this happen often? Post-operative rehab exercise seems to trigger the seroma and yet I know there has to be a balance in order to manage the cording symptoms. I would really appreciate any feedback/suggestions/help to manage the above. Many thanks!
