Hi everyone  I hope you have all had a good weekend. I’ve not written in a while but have been keeping up with your progress hope those who have treatment last week are doing ok. I had my third ec on Tuesday and its hit me like a tonne of bricks together with the side effects of the filgrastin. I know I’m half way there but I’m struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hi everyone I hope your all having an ok weekend. I had my second EC on Tuesday and although not feeling as sick this time I feel like I’ve been a zombie. I’ve managed a daily walk but that is about it. Oh and heart burn I never had that as bad last time ouch. Does anyone get really achy after their third jab oh my my neck shoulders back are sore to touch!  Even though I cold capped my hair has really thinned and getting some patches that are harder to hide. Need to make a decision what to do going forward so I give up with the cold cap?? Hi Mrsquincey It’s awful the feeling of panic isn’t it. I too cold capped and hair on head doing okay at the moment no more than usual coming out. Hair elsewhere is another story 😬 My second session is on Tuesday too I’m ready for it bring it on and then we’re a third of the way there!  ... View more

What lovely photos York 75. Aren’t 6 year olds amazing they are so resilient. I am 2 weeks and one day after my first session and starting to see some hair coming out I am still hoping the cold cap has helped but after seeing everyone’s photos and comments I am thinking of looking into getting a wig. I have had a real wobble today whilst drying myself after shower I felt what I thought was a lump same side as lumpectomy but near to the bottom of my rib cage. Sent me into a right spin so I phoned my bc nurse. She got me in to see the surgeon this afternoon who had a good check and couldn’t feel anything. I’m now thinking is this going to be me from now on panicking about every little thing 😞 .  ... View more

Karen it sounds like your having an awful time of it. I hope they can adjust your anti sickness meds and get you feeling better soon. I had lumpectomy first and then started chemo on the 19th 6 rounds every three weeks which is then going to be followed by radiotherapy. ive been very lucky with the side affects my temp is fluctuating it hits the dreaded 37.5 but then drops again- I think the unit are sick of hearing from me. I feel very achy today, literally sore to touch but I may have overdone it with my walk yesterday and earlier. Trying to keep things as normal as I can for my boys but they do know that mums strong medicine may make me feel poorly and have been really good bless them.  This group is really helping me get through this journey x ... Hi Umlydia It sounds like we are in a similar position I had my first session on Monday last week, the red one too EC I think they called it. Similarly to you I was very tired the first few days but then started to feel better. I had a real wobble on Friday and phoned unit i have never felt my body ache so much that with a slightly raised temp and being a worrier tipped me over the edge. The unit were lovely and said it was a likely reaction to the jabs. Today I am feeling pretty much like myself. trying to hide feeling poorly from the kids is what I’m struggling with but like you my husband has been fantastic keeping them busy. Did you cold cap? I did but I think some hair starting to come out today hopefully not too many 🤞 . I’ve been doing salt water mouthwashes to help with the mouth sores but the dry throat thing feels strange.  Hope you are feeling okay this weekend take care x ... View more

Glad you’re feeling ok after your first session. It’s good that you’ve managed some cooking. I haven’t managed to do a morning school run as feeling very tired in the mornings. Has anyone else got thermometer paranoia? How often should I be checking my temperature. Mine is fluctuating and I phoned the unit as it was 37.5 but I was using my own ear thermometer (which I think I’ve overused giving myself a bit of a blocked ear) I knew my excessive worrying would affect this.  ... Hi York75 had my first session yesterday and managed the cold cap it wasn’t as bad as I thought the chin strap was annoying. was a bit sick during the night and agin this morning feeling tired so had a few naps. My eyes are stinging which is weird. Managed a walk to pick the boys up from school which made me happy. I have a feeling the next few days are going to be unpredictable!  im glad you are feeling good, I know what you mean about feeling pathetic but I think we’re allowed to take it a bit easier with all that’s going on. take care everyone 💕 ... Hi everyone I too have had a triple negative diagnosis. I’ve had a lumpectomy and nodes removed no spread to the nodes and start chemo on Monday. I have been really positive as my team have said it’s treatable and after the lumpectomy it’s about preventing it coming back, however today the triple negative is playing on my mind. Am I being too positive!!  I have two boys aged 6 and 10 and I really want to be strong and survive this for them. I can’t let it beat me!!  ... View more

Jojo That’s annoying I know what you meant about just wanting to get things started. I hope there isn’t too much of a delay for you.  I’m just sat at the hospital waiting to sign my consent papers which is a little scary. Can I ask where you got your wigs from? So I had my first oncology appointment and have gone from feeling quite positive to totally deflated. The consultant was really thorough but really blunt and to the point which is good but a lot to deal with. The lump that was removed was grade three triple negative and due to my age being referred to genetics, I feel that I couldn’t have done things much worse if I tried. Then I get the date of my first chemo which is fine two weeks away so not long then I work out the possible dates for the 6 sessions. Session 2 my sons birthday, session 3 my brothers birthday and session 4 my nieces birthday just before Christmas. 2020 really is having a laugh!!
