Thank you both so much for coming back to me. It’s so helpful to have the views of people who have been through the same thing as me.   Ordinarily I just do as I’m told from a medical perspective. I’ve had my Covid jabs and had my booster this week, but understand why people have different views on this. Every fibre in my body is screaming “no” to taking Neratinib. I have until the start of January to decide as that’s the latest point at which I can start taking it.   I also seem to be carrying more weight around my tum as a result of Tamoxifen and no matter how much exercise I do or how carefully I watch my diet, it won’t go!  York-75 I feel your pain with wearing a bra. They seem to sit just where I get the pain and tried so many different ones. Costing me a fortune! I do think that ongoing aches and the sharp pain that you get Emma are normal, but it’s not easy to put the bc journey behind you when you have niggling reminders is it?  Thanks again for your guidance.   Karen x     ... @Strangely upbeat    I didn't shave my hair as figured growing from scratch would take longer when the time comes but do what you feel happier doing. I reckon I have lost 80 % of my hair now but I have a few long strands that when I wear a bobble hat hang down for effect of hair 😂 ... View more

@sparkle123 On the subject of Cold Cap.  They had stopped it at my hospital when I started my treatment so for several weeks I just washed my hair in the coldest water I could stand and although it eventually fell out my breast care nurse was surprised how long it stayed. ... View more

Hi SU   Thanks for your message. I will be thinking of you tomorrow. I think waiting for results and treatment decisions is so hard. i didn’t realise I needed chemo initially and 6 months feels like a long time, and especially restrictive because of covid and having lowered immunity. On the other hand it’s helping giving me the best chance of preventing recurrence and once I knew the oncologist said I needed it, and I had got my head around it, I just wanted to get started. For the first 10 days I felt tired and probably overdid things and didn’t rest enough. I was given anti sickness medicine so I didn’t feel sick, which was my main fear. I have had stomach pain on and off, and feeling a bit queasy, but it hasn’t been as bad as I thought  it would be. I think the doctors have to go through every possible side effect and when you read them all  it does sound very alarming but no one is likely to get all of them at once! Hello, so sorry I've only just read your new message. I believe the skin used for creating the new nipple for my left breast was part of that breast rather than grafted from elsewhere in my body and was certainly not taken from the other (right) breast which was cancer-free. You'll appreciate that 10 years is a long time to look back on now. I would reiterate that the result for me is still aesthetically very pleasing.  My advice is be guided by your own consultant/surgeon.  They are the experts. Thinking of you and wishing you well.
