Hello As Ariom has said the wait for an appt is I think the worst part - we all let our thoughts run amok.  I had a small cyst a few months ago and since I’m 66 I was sure it wouldn’t be benign - thankfully it was. I couldn’t wait for my appt to come through and at the same time I was terrified when it did come through. As everyone on here will tell you stay away from dr google it will just scare and confuse you at the same time. Any questions or fears you have just ask the kind ladies on here and they will help you through it.  Don’t worry too much about being brave and let others (family and friends) do all they can to support you. Hi just read your email and wanted to send you a hug and say how scared we’ve all felt when we’ve discovered a lump.  Please listen to the lovely ladies on this forum - they will support you through this and please listen to them and not Dr Google.  I’m in my sixties and discovered a lump a few months ago.  We all fear that dreaded word cancer but most turn out (as mine did) to be something benign although I think everyone is scared at the time. I did tell a couple of my close friends and it does help to have someone to talk to.  Your appointment will soon come round although it probably seems ages away right now. All I can say is try to get through the wait as best you can - I listened to music on my iPad and watched silly films. As I said keep in touch with the ladies on here they will look after you. Hello glad you found this website the ladies on here are so understanding and kind.  They really helped me a few weeks ago when I found a lump which turned out to be a benign cyst.  Age isn’t always relevant I’m 66 and was convinced it was cancer. Wonderful news - try not to worry and be reassured by what the doctor and radiologist have told you.  When I saw the consultant he told me straight after the initial examination that he thought it was nothing to worry about.  It sounds like your consultant is sure it’s benign so please believe him - hope you can relax now and get a good night’s sleep.
