Hey Delly and my other pink ribbon warriors.. 🎀 .    It’s been a bit of a day! Kicking off at 10am with a jab at my doctors to stop my ovaries producing oestrogen/ progesterone... I guess it’s putting me through menopause because my cancer seems to love those hormones! Then off to the hospital for an ECG and a Denosumab injection for my bones, along with collecting my Ribociclib chemo tablets ( and a read through the possible side effects which I’ve already decided I’ll take a pass on!) to start Wednesday with the Lectrozole I’m already taking.  Tomorrow I’m back off to the hospital ( I’m sure they’re going to start charging me rent) for the MRI scan on my liver... pray it’s not cancer... It would be nice to get a bit of positive news, although it wouldn’t change the treatment plan that’s in place.      Thank you for the links I’ve been given for hope with others in my situation....it’s lightened up a very dark place. Happy birthday Delly!! 🥳 🎉 🍭 🍰 🦄 🐯 🦒 🐘 🥂 🎈 🎁 I hope you have had a special day ❤️ Gelbel, I hope the discomfort you’ve been feeling is on it’s way out and tomorrow it’s settled back down.       Well I have managed to get back up again after the latest knockout!! It’s been a tough couple of days, we really do get put through the wringer with this disease!  I’ve just popped on here and seen everyone’s messages, support, care,friendship, laughter and love. I’m so fortunate to have you all in my camp... standing with me 👭 👭 .         I have spent the last 48 hours telling fear to do one and recharging my hope tank... and it’s filling up nicely. Then I come on here and you gave me the link to awesome Pawsome’s thread about no evidence of active disease. That’s what I’m talking about.... I’ll have whatever Pawsome is having!... way to go! 💪🏼     I’ve started reading a book called ‘how to starve cancer’, very interesting and full of hope... Hey my lovely surgery January 2021’ers. This is not easy for me to write. Today has been a really difficult day.  I have stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasised to my spine and possibly my liver ( needs MRI scan to confirm or eliminate) I have been told it’s not curable but can be managed. I’ve been prescribed Letrozole for starters, I need to have an injection each month to put me into menopause and stop oestrogen production and I’ll need a bone strengthening treatment too. No surgery at this time and no chemo... I’d only want chemo to get cancer free but that’s not going to be the case for what I’m told. It’s not what I expected. He was certain the lesions on my spine were cancer and that determined this outcome. What can I say... it’s just pants 🩲 ❤️ ❤️ ... View more

Delly, you certainly are lovable..  my spirits were really lifted last week with all the onesie images and banter, the jokes, love and lightness was so needed.X Amy, I’m really leased you are doing so well and your recovery is going from strength to strength. I can’t believe it was a week ago today! X Gelbel, I hope you are still recovering well and are comfortable as it’s only been a few days but what a warrior you are, I so admire you for that... straight out of theatre and encouraging others around you X So tomorrow I see the Oncologist at 9am. I haven’t had any appointments for MRI scans. The lesions could well be cancer but they could also be as the result of a fall I had 3 years ago (trauma) which I still have to see an Osteopath about a couple of times a year. And the liver could be as the result of an eating disorder ( bulimia) that I had for 20 years until I was 35. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some idea of a way forward... I’ll take my previous scans of my back and discuss my history but the Oncologist will have far more experience and wisdom in the next best steps. The surgery next week is still on the table but I’ll let you all know tomorrow.  I really want the surgery next week and to still be in the Surgery January 2021 gang, because you are all awesome and because I have a new dressing gown, front buttoned nightshirt ( with front pocket) and a V pillow!! 🙏🏼 🤞🏼 🌺 🌈 ❤️ ... A big shout out to Gelbel for your operation today and having such a wonderful start to your recovery. Finding the time also for reaching out to others on here and for having me laughing out loud “ I've giraffe and ocelot onesies” 😂 . The further I’m traveling into this whole new world the more I’m feeling one amongst many. It is so scary and lonely  with all the tests, diagnosis and the uncertainty... having to hand my life over and trust in the expertise and navigation of others. I’m so grateful for this group, the support, love, light hearted and caring humour and above all the comradeship of everyone on here. Ahh Delly, I guess I’m trying to be a lion but on a difficult and lonely unicycle for one. So yes please having you join me with your unicorn ensemble and in tandem! I just need to trust and keep my faith that everything is as it’s meant to be and my team will hopefully bring me back to health and happiness.  I am 53, divorced 17 years and single parent to my 2 sons ( aged 21 & 23 ) I am blessed to have very loving, caring and supportive friends around me, I work in a school and have their support too. My sons are amazing and I have my Christian  church family too. I have been blown away by all the love I’ve been shown. I’m so grateful albeit wishing this wasn’t happening. Thank you for your love and kind response’s. Yes it was the L2 and T12. I was given the CT scan because the cancer was also found in my lymph nodes and they said although they didn’t expect anything they’re doing the CT as a matter of procedure. I also thought they might have done it to aid the surgery and to get the load down on my anatomy, lump, nodes etc... I was told 2 MRI scans...1 for my liver and 1 on my spine. I was disappointed that I didn’t get a call from the hospital’s today as my CT was the following day  ( The Royal Sussex in Brighton for 1 and the Princess Royal 20 miles away for the other!) if they told me to ride a unicycle in a lions outfit I’d do it...just tell me what I need to do 😂 Without the extra evidence of MRI I’m unsure what the oncologist will suggest as best. I’d really like to go ahead with the surgery on the 21st....did I really just say that? I know they’re all working in my best interest, it just feels like I’m wading through treacle 😩 ❤️ ... Hey you wonderful women. I’m now unsure what is going on! My CT scan came back yesterday and apparently showed a lesion on my liver and my spine (L2 & L12) I’m waiting appointments  for 2 MRI scans for further investigation and an appointment with an oncologist on Tuesday am. Another twist and more uncertainty to bear. As if just having breast cancer wasn’t enough to get to grips with! So the Oncologist will now determine the next course of action. So close to having the surgery but now, I just don’t know. It’s been a difficult 24 hrs. Gelbel, I wish you the very best for tomorrow and that everything runs smoothly and your recovery is swift. Hey everyone, I’m feeling so defeated. I had a call from my surgeon and bc nurse with the results from my CT scan and they said I have a legion on my liver and spine(L2 & L12) I now need to have an MRI scan for a closer look at what’s going on but I’m now back into the fear of not overcoming this. They are looking at possibly chemo before surgery and I have an appointment on Tuesday 12th with oncology but haven’t out ruled the surgery until the oncologist has seen me.    I wasn’t expecting this and was hoping for a linear line through treatment. My CT scan results aren’t back yet but I’m focusing on them being positive, I’ve tortured myself relentlessly  over the past month with bad case scenarios... enough already!     Next steps will be my pre op assessment stuff and Covid test... I’m in the new year new me gang! I have now been given 21st January as my surgery date. I’m having a right side mastectomy and lymph nodes removed. No CT scan results yet but hoping for the best. Waiting for the dates for the pre op stuff but it feels like it’s all in motion after so much angst and waiting... knowing the cancer is there inside me feels really horrible given it’s potential. Amy I’m so pleased you’ve had your surgery, I thought about you often during the day and kept you in my prayers. I wish you a comfortable and quick recovery along with the absolute best results. Thank you Amy, I know all about the ‘what if’s’ as they’ve been tormenting me since my diagnosis on December 23rd, actually since December 6th after my triple assessment!          I’m usually a very positive and optimistic person but this has had me on my knees.  So as we don’t know the outcome of anything up front, how about our ‘what if’s’ are the best outcomes...we see the result of anything as the best case scenario, as why wouldn’t that be the case and tap into faith and get fear packing!  Today is your day.x ... I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the other incredible ladies who responded to my post. Your hope, strength, courage, experience, wisdom and encouragement has been of great comfort, which is difficult to hold on to after diagnosis and all the uncertainty surrounding it. I had my CT scan yesterday ( 30/12) and my bc nurse is calling Monday with the results and hopefully the date for my surgery.    Wishing you all a blessed 2021... Results day, Well as expected, I have Invasive lobular breast cancer in my right breast and some evidence within my lymph nodes. It is not considered aggressive and hopefully totally treatable albeit a challenging road ahead. estrogen positive Her2 Negative Grade 2 CT Scan next Wednesday 30th as part of the proceedings but hopefully won’t find anything sinister. Surgery in 4 weeks for compete mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes. Current outlook is positive, albeit not relishing any aspect of what’s happening . If the cancer is localised to just my breast and lymph nodes then my treatment plan is looking to be very effective at getting rid of the cancer completely. Radiotherapy and possibly chemotherapy. I will know more after the operation. Thank you for everyone’s encouragement, support and kind words at this awful time.
