Thank you so much Evie I have been seeing my BcN twice weekly for drain since my drain fell out and went today for drainage. The surgeon took a look at it as my hubby felt my WLE scar had ooened a little and I had a red hot patch at the top of my arm scar. Surgeon asked for steristrips to be added to the WLE scar and I’m on antibiotics now as a precaution. I am still taking paracetamol four hourly and morphine 2.5 mg at night . Thank you for the reassuring advice and info . Greatly appreciated and good to hear you’re doing well xx

Hi everyone I had my 3cm x2.8cm tumour removed along with full axillary clearance 3 weeks ago on Wednesday. Have had a Seroma which is being drained. My question is how much longer will the pain remain . When will I start to feel normal again ? Thank you I’m advance

I’ve never had surgery before and only a couple of anaesthetics so I’m feeling pretty anxious. HDU is precautionary as I do have done other significant health problems that could be affected . Hi all I’m booked for a WLE and full axillary clearance on March 3rd. Was diagnosed in early January but due to other health conditions impacting my treatment only just been offered surgery. Feeling scared as a HDU bed has been booked for me and will I’ve been told have to stay overnight. What can I expect when I wake up ? Thanks 😞

Hello Daisy so sorry to hear about your diagnosis too. Like you mine came out of the blue as part of an investigation into another health issue. it’s completely uptipped my world. Like you I’m getting a lot of Letrezole side effects. The hot flushes are worse than they were during my menopause. I’m finding it hard to think a pill as tiny as it is will stop my cancer spreading further . I hope your further discussion with oncologist goes ok. Mine is next eeek too. I just feel lots of pathways are blocked to me right now. it’s so scary and I have trouble switching off from it. Work used to be my passion and salvation during tricky times but I’m shielding and have been too unwell with other stuff to attend. As I’ve decided to take ill health retirement I need to restart some hobbies I guess. Trouble is fear and worry is winning right now. Good luck Daisy

Hi Delly Thank you for your kind words. I will speak to someone probably my GP- don’t feel fully supported by my BCN to be honest. She doesn’t appear interested. as my case is complicated and she doesn’t know about the other health issues. Or tries to know. Thanks for the thread I’ll have a read. A MUGA scan is a specialist radio nuclear heart scan and I had it last week. It didn’t go too well. My heartbeat was too erratic and they struggled to get slides. It’s to create an accurate ejection fraction figure. So lovely to hear a succes story and that yours was caught early. Thank you for trying to help others . Xx

Hello I’m so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. The group has been a lifeline these past few weeks. Just reading about others in a similar situation does help. You’re not alone . I think the fear and depression is inevitable with what we are facing . More especially as we are in the middle of a pandemic too. Fully understand around going out. I was actually jealous of my hubby going shopping for us to Asda the other day. Been shielding since November too and have decided due to lack of treatment options to retire from work. After 24 years service it will be hard but the future doesn’t look great so time for me is what I’m thinking now. Do you have support st home ? I hope so. The isolation is hard and even with support you still feel ‘alone’. I said this the other day that nobody can understand unless you’ve got cancer yourself. Thank you Sandpiper Thank you for sharing your story with me. Did your tumours shrink with Letrezole ? im hoping your surgery has healed abc you’re on the mend. Good that you didn’t need chemo or Herceptin. I hope there is someone - I’m only 54 do to hear from anyone with similar would be great . I know it’s more common in older ladies but would hope there are a couple my age who maybe struggling too. Thank you and take care xx

Thank you Delly I think you replied to me on another post. I have autoimmune thyroiditis, Chronic Kidney disease stage3, Permanent atrial fibrillation, heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, Mild but chronic COPD ( never ever smoked) I’m just hopeful that I can find someone with other health issues that have had success or managed to find a treatment pathway . hope you are well too Delly and thank you . X

Hello newly diagnosed with Grade 3 Ductal Carcinoma ER, PR, HER & node +++ . I’m 54. Tumour in left breast 3cm x 3cm and axillary nodes cancerous. Full axillary clearance advised if surgery can go ahead due to other health issues. Body & Bone scan clear . MUGA scan on Thursday. Due to significant other underlying health conditions chemo and Herceptin not an option, surgery possibly in 6-9mths unless tumour doesn’t reduce in which case maybe sooner but I’m a high risk, then radiotherapy at the end. Started Letrozole last week . Taking one a day . Some pain now in the breast and lymph area. Armpit was swollen on original examination my oncologist said. Would that pain now be the Letrozole working ? Does anyone have any experiences similar to mine with additional health barriers or just having Letrozole as a treatment first. Would be lovely to know I’m not alone as I feel very much so right now as all online/text book advice/ help is geared towards traditional therapies and not someone whose options are limited. I feel very afraid of it spreading. Thanks

Thank you Jan for all of your advice. I had a full body scan yesterday and am having a bone scan on Thursday. Meet with the oncologist on Monday to decide fully my pathway and get full body results. Chemo will be tricky and risky with all my other health conditions. I’m under no illusions I’m in for a tough ride if they can even move forward with me. Just heartbroken for my hubby and children. I lost my mum when she was 50 to ovarian cancer and never wanted to put my children through the pain. Yes they’re adults but always my babies. It’s good to hear your story and that you’re getting through this. Thanks too for the too tips. I love reading so well prepared with my to read pile Tskr care xx

No of course not Delly . I have 5 other health conditions that are going to add huge risk and complications to my treatment pathway. I am in permanent AF and heart failure , I have CkD stage 3 and autoimmune thyroiditis plus mild but chronic COPD (Never smoked) oh yes I go by the nickname Lucky ! Hello yes I did sadly 🥲 I’ve got a Stage 3 aggressive/ fast growing cancer that is Oestrogen positive and HER 2 positive. The cancer is also in my lymph nodes. I’m having a full body scan and bone scan this week to check it’s not travelled and gone on holiday elsewhere in my body. If it hasn’t spread to my body and my kidney function is ok ( I have CKD Stage 3) after my blood test tomorrow I shall be starting Chemotherapy as early as next week and hopefully this will reduce it. Surgery will then hopefully take place and then radiotherapy after that. I shall be started on a drug called Herceptin but this may not be allowed as it can have a serious adverse affect on my heart. I’m in AF and Heart failure .
