Hi I too finished my radiotherapy in May, but received an appointment in the post to have my  check up with the consultant in September which was supposed to be a telephone appointment. I was having trouble with my letrazole and what looked like a band running down my boob so rang a McMillan nurse to discuss this and had my appointment brought forward about 3 weeks. I told her I wanted a face to face appointment, which I did have. The consultant examined me, changed my medication and sent me to have a bra fitted ( I have never been offered that before!). She also organised the date for next year for my  1 year mammogram and I also received an appointment with Anaesthetics? for August next year. I am having an ultrasound on the lump in my boob tomorrow.  As for my GP I did have 1 phone call from them when I was first diagnosed but then nothing since. I have kept my Gp up to date on occasions where I have rang up about my fibromyalgia and the letrazole. Hi I too have vaginal atrophy, started menopause at 49 after hysterectomy and ovaries removed. Was diagnosed with oestrogen driven breast cancer end of 2020 and put on letrazole. I’m 55. I have been lucky in that a have been allowed a 6 week break from letrazole, it was offered to me by breast cancer nurse and a decision was made same day to allow it. I’m in the North East. I’ve been off 4 weeks and can only say it’s made a slight difference, still having problems. Was on hrt prior to my diagnosis and really miss it!  Do feel for you and don’t know why you have to have a referral just to stop pills for 6 weeks, perhaps try again. Hate the thought it’s something we have to live with, has changed my life too.  We are all different though and I hope coming off letrazole really helps you.   sending hugs and best wishes wendy     ... Hi @Evie-S thanks for the info ive had a good read. One thing that sticks out is the part where someone says to you how well you look when inside you dont feel that good. This happened to me the other day as i was walking the dog. I saw someone from work and she commented how well i looked. This did make me feel uncomfortable as i thought she was probably thinking i could be at work easing their burden.  I then went home and had a two hour nap as i felt shattered!! Its the same as living with a chronic condition like fibro and others. People judge you on how you look and expect the same from you as they do from others who have no significant health problems. Because you look ok then you must be ok!! This concerns me about returning to work. Its other peoples misconception that its all over your back to work and back to normal. Take care, Wendy xx ... Hi @Guest user Thats it exactly! You have put it so much better than me. Even my Sister had commented that i am not realising just what it is i am going through. I do take Duloxetine for my fibro which i find has numbed my emotions as it is an anti-deppressant. Goodness knows what i would be like without it.  I think there is help going forward with counselling and group therapy possibly. I havent really had a good look into this as i have been unaccepting of whats going on. Maybe it will hit me once i start radiotherapy. Ive still got a lot of pain under armpit, down my back and in my shoulder, also my rib is very tender. However my brain cant seem to link it to breast cancer surgery more as if it just another set of pains to do with fibro!! Hope you rads are going ok and you make a speedy recovery from them. Hi @Kitkat23 thanks so much for your reply and advice. It seems strange to me even to have to think about whether i want to be tattoed or not. To be honest this whole process has seemed a bit surreal as if im going through the motions but its nothing to do with cancer as thats really bad. Even though ive had two surgeries! @catt57 Thanks so much for the advice! When i go for my planning meeting i will tell them about my fibro and see if they do the same thing for patients there. Hope so.    Hope everything is going well for yourself and you are feeling a lot less guilty in thinking you are putting others out. Hi Im new to the forum and this us my first post. I am nearly 4 weeks post surgery from my 2nd surgery and i too have fibro. It has been a worry to me how all this would impact my fibro and the pains im experiencing at the moment i dont know if theyre from the surgery or from fibro and i do worry that i will always have them!    I dont know yet when i am having radiotherapy and i too am worried whether im going to be able to cope with the process. Please dont feel guilty, remember you are not alone with your fibro and im sure hospitals are used to having to deal with people with physical difficulties during radiotherapy.
