Hi sharlea My consultant ordered an Oncotype test, which profiles the tumour to see if any benefit from chemo.  They only do it in certain situations. There was a good section on this website and the Macmillan one explaining it.  It can take 2 weeks for results to come back. I got my results last week and thankfully was told I won’t need chemo.  So now waiting for oncologist appointment to discuss radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Hi This forum is brilliant, it’s so good and v reassuring to hear from others feeling exactly the same as I am and seeing the support everyone is giving each other.  My surgery was just under 2 weeks ago. I felt great after surgery then exhaustion & the wobbles hit me 5 days later... I’d thought I’d be able to return to work working from home part time after a couple of weeks but realised that’s unrealistic! I can’t concentrate on things & get tired doing the simplist things!  Learning to slow down & take it a day at a time is hard.  My consultant called me yesterday with my initial pathology reports... no cancer in lymph nodes, good margins round the tumour... but they want to do an Oncotype test as I ticked all the boxes... this will determine if I need chemo or not! So got another 2-3 weeks wait till I get to meet oncologist when I’ll find out what treatment they recommend!!! Hi I had a WLE & ISNB last week and today has been a v weepy day... I’m so glad I found these posts today as they completely describe how I feel and the rollercoaster the last 5 weeks have been... I hadn’t even found my lump and was referred to breast unit for other symptoms... so being told that afternoon I had cancer was a massive shock... I haven’t had time to take any of it in yet... the care off the nhs has been amazing so far... just gone through every appointment in a haze. I’m waiting to hear what’s the next step is, chemo or radiotherapy. The tiredness is coming in waves.. one minute I feel full of energy, the next I can barely keep my eyes open & feel so hopeless... but knowing it’s all normal & I’m not along is wonderful... thank you x ...
