Hi Shaan,  i’ll definitely be thinking about you tomorrow, sending lots of hugs 🤗🤗 My oncologist said it’s an easier treatment side effect wise. I was really sick on Adriamycin or (Red Devil) so I’m glad that’s finished. I’m going to be having this new cocktail every week for 12 weeks so I really hope she’s right 😬 ... View more

I totally agree with you. Five years ago I started to have a gnawing pain in my left breast mostly in the outer lower quadrant. I was 48 at the time and was sent for a mammogram which came back clear so no further investigation, but the pain was always there and eventually I just put up with it. 2 yrs ago I had a standard mammogram which was also clear even though I told them about the pain. Then in June just past my dog kept sniffing at my chest and wouldn’t leave it alone, and then my granddaughter accidentally knocked the same place and it was soo painful. So the next morning I checked in the shower and found a lump 4cm in the same place as the original pain 5 years previously. Now after all the tests they say I have grade 3 IDC and I’m getting my PET/CT scan results tomorrow morning to see if it’s spread. The point is I’ve been told so many times that it’s a GOOD sign if it’s painful because it’s probably not cancer. Now it may be too late 🤷‍♀️ ... View more

Hi Sandpiper, hope you are keeping well. So much has happened since I was last on here and I’m still not sure of all the terminology. I got my results on the 24th, they said it is grade 3 IDC but it’s not hormone related, so it’s either triple negative or her2 + They have to do another test to find out which one. There is also thickening in a lymph node under my arm and the following day after I got my diagnosis they called me for a PET/CT scan, so I have to go for the results on Wednesday. I must admit the hardest part was telling my dad my diagnosis 😭 i haven’t told him about the PET/CT scan and I’m hoping I won’t have to. The dr said I’ll be starting on chemo first and hopefully the tumour will disappear.  Did you get your results yet from your post mammogram? Hi Sandpiper, Glad you are doing ok and I hope your results are good and you don’t have to wait too long for them. BIRADs is the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data system. Is scores from 0 to 6, with 0 being an unclear result, 1 is no sign of malignancy and so on. Mine is 5 which is >95% chance of malignancy and waiting biopsy to confirm. 6 is confirmed with imaging and biopsy. If you look at your Drs notes after your mammogram and eco you may see your own BIRADS score and you should have one when you get your next results.
