Hi, I had a mastectomy a year ago and over the past couple of days I have had a slight pain which is sharpish and only lasts a few seconds and is on mastectomy side (left) and where I feel it is just under where the scar is… about an inch or so. Yesterday I had it on and off all day and then today not at all until about 6pm… had it a few times but non in the last couple of hours. Is it possible to get nerve pain after a year? Has anyone else had this. Obviously if it carries on I will contact go. thanks Jaynie

Hi, I have now been on Anastrozole since beginning of March and was extremely anxious regarding all the horrid side effect they can cause. Well so far I am having hot flushes and some night sweats and a few mild muscles aches. I do have some nights when I find it difficult to sleep and stay asleep but nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I hope I get anymore side effects as time goes on. I agree with the person who said that people dont post when things are going ok

Hi. I had to have my Picc line removed when I was in hospital a month ago. After it was removed I noticed there was a lump under the skin where Picc line was inserted. Well over the pas 4/5 weeks the lump is decreasing but the wound has not healed properly. It looks like a crater with a hole in the middle and there is clearish thin liquid coming from this which is stopping the wound creating a scab and healing. I have mentioned this to my gp who doesn’t seem concerned as there is no redness on the skin surrounding it or pus coming from it. I am assuming the lump is decreasing as more of the clear fluid is coming out… but 4/5 weeks seems a long time and still not healed. Has anyone else had this problem. It also does itch on and off. Thanks for the reply. I just hope I get some regrowth as am starting hormone suppressants at end of the month (anastrazole) and one of the side effects is hair loss/thinning! 😱 Jaynie

Hi. I have had mastectomy and had 1 session of EC chemotherapy and have decided because of the bad experience I have had will not be having any more chemo. My chemo was 4 weeks ago. Does anyone know when hair starts to grow back as according to the internet you should get some ‘fuzzy’ hair starting to grow at 3 to 4 weeks and I have no sign of any? regards Jaynie

Hi Anniebee yes it is a big decision and I am sticking with it. Yes maybe down the line I may regret it, I hope not. All I know is I just cannot face having anymore. I will be going on Hormone Suppressants once I am feeling better from this Jaynie

Hi. I have had to have my Picc Line removed because of infection. Since it has been removed which was nearly a week ago. I am on antibiotics still and the area around it is still a bit red/pink but not hot. I have noticed that where the Picc Line was there is a small lump under skin and that it is extremely itchy! Has anyone else had this? Jaynie

Hi. I have been really suffering with my first round of EC chemo and ended up in hospital last week with infection which turned out to be from the Picc Line which was then removed. I am now home on antibiotics but still not feeling good at all. I have made the big decision of not carrying on with the other 3 sessions of chemo. This chemo is not to reduce lump or anything as I had a mastectomy with good margins and lymph nodes were not affected… so was to cross the t’s and dot the i’s so to speak. I will be going on hormone supressents once I feel better. Jaynie

I am still in hospital and feeling fed up! It was the Picc Line which had got infected and they have taken it out. I am really hoping they will let me home today as it is not doing my mental health any good Jaynie

I have had my first chemo which was EC chemo on 19th and am now in hospital despite being extremely careful only going out to have pic line dressed. Have infection somewhere and white blood cell count still very low despite doing all 7 Filgrastin injections. Feeling very low and wondering how I can cope with the next 3! Almost thinking shall I bother! Jaynie

Hi All I have had my first chemo last Wednesday. Was EC Chemotherapy. Can I ask has anyone else experienced any issues with the bladder as in having an accident not getting to the loo in time? I am also on Filgrastim injections for 7 days. I have also had constipation from the drugs and took Movicol but now gone the other way slightly…Have had some bright red blood showing on tissue so hoping that will be from the constipation/then to a bit loose. Have asked helpline who has just said to monitor at the moment. Sorry for the graphical explanation! I am a real worrier 😢 Also developed a slight sore throat this morning when I swallow (done lateral flow…is negative) no temperature. Hope everyone on here managing with chemo okay Jaynie xxx

Hi, I was meant to start my chemo this week but have had to postpone it to next week as my hubby woke up on Monday morning with bad vertigo and couldn’t get out of bed so couldn’t cope with starting chemo and also difficult to get to the hospital with him not being able to drive me. He is getting better now hopefully so will go ahead next week….. starting to get nervous about it again now. How are all who were starting their chemo this week? Hopefully all went well. I am due to have Picc line fitted on Monday and Chemo on the Wednesday. Jaynie xx

@Nancy1970I am feeling exactly the same. I had mastectomy in November and coped okay but the thought of this chemo is really affecting me and am really dreading it and all that goes with it You are not alone Jaynie x

@Confused Meanderings I hope you dont get covid from your husband and hope he isn’t too ill with it. It is worrying. I do know some people who have had covid and the people they live with didn’t get it so hope it will be the same for you. xx

Hi all. I have just found out today that I am having Picc Line fitted on Monday 10th and my first chemo session on Wednesday the 12th. I am so scared and am finding this actually worse than when I was waiting for my Mastectomy which was on the 4th November. I am having EC chemo. 4 sessions 21 days apart. Does anyone know when your hair starts falling out? Jaynie x

I am due to have EC in January but not got any dates yet. Can I ask did you lose your hair with EC and if so when did it start? I am having them every 21 days. 4 lots as my Oncotype DX test score was 40 😢 I was told to drink plenty after the treatment so will try to although I think I will struggle to drink 3 litres. Hope your treatment keeps going well Jaynie23
