Hi all, With one thing and another I've not been on for a while, hope your all as well as can be. Just wonder if any of you ladies could give me some advice for combatting EC constipation. Hi Sorry I'm only just getting back to you thank you all for your feedback on the filgrastim injections it sounds like everyone's side effects are pretty rubbish all round!!! @crazycat I did contact my chemo team just for advice......ended with a night in hospital/antibiotics.....I'd had 2/7 injections but told me to stop using for now. Cross fingers my neutrophil levels don't drop again. @FayeL hope your side effects are becoming more manageable, sorry I think I made you forget about doing your injection 🙈 . @Nancy.B your made me smile with your reaction to the injections, think they make us all swear!! Looking at your side effects I shouldn't moan x @Tanny hope your 3rd round of chemo went ok & your side effects arn't too bad. @MajesticTiger I mentioned clarityn on the phone to my Oncologist but she dismissed it straight away. If I go back onto the injections I will mention again thanks. @Lollynewme sorry to hear all that you are going through. @KMS2022  I've had 2 lots of EC & constipation has been a problem for the first 2 weeks after the infusion. My chemo team gave me Laxido, everyone's different but works well for me. Hope you find something that works for you x ... View more

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any experience advice on Filstragim injections? I had my 2nd last night & have another 5 to do & feel quite ill today. Drained, weak, hot & cold, feeling sick. Hi @Jussie  Sorry to hear about your positive lymph nodes & that your Oncologist has recommended you have chemo too, how do you feel about that? Everyone's chemo cocktail seems different, I'm having 6 x 3 weekly EC. I've not had the best start but hoping cycle 2 goes better with a couple of tweaks to my treatment. I'm having dose 2 on Monday, it had to be delayed a week because of low white blood cells. Hope your 1st cycle went ok & your coping with the side effects. Hi @shady  I never want to bother anyone, my sister was really worried so phoned them but glad she did. My temp was in range but even after assessing me at the hospital they wanted me to stay in overnight, if they didn't know we shouldn't feel bad not knowing. To avoid phoning the helpline later I asked my chemo nurse if I could just take over the counter medication if needed. She was insistent that I phone the helpline for anything as they like to keep track of everything. Hi, @MajesticTiger good to hear you have finally been able to kick start your chemo & it went well. Weird isn't it trying to navigate the chemo stand. I didn't expect the nurse to be sat with me administering the EC I thought it would be just through the drip. @Pengu1n thanks for sharing how you were through it all, it really does help knowing what to expect. Most seem to change what they have part way through their chemo sessions I am having 6 x EC. @Nancy.B 12 days in I'm feeling better, my legs don't feel like their mine but I need to push myself to get out & do some walking. Hope your still doing on after your 2nd dose. Sorry to hear about your MIL as if you haven't got enough on. Sending big hugs 💕 @Tanny it is good to get the first one ticked off, its the unknown. Good to hear having the PICC line fitted went ok, wonder why some have those fitted mine was into a cannula. I didn't have to endure the side effects from the injection either. @Aliwoo82 I sympathise with knowing when you should & shouldn't be concerned with side effects. My sister was quite worried 3 days after my 1st session so phoned the helpline just for advice. It ended up with me having an overnight stay in hospital but was all good to go home the following day.  Has anyone had a referral from their hospital for a wig fitting? My hairdresser was going to get me one but that's fallen through so panicking I have left it late to organise. Anywhere for head wear that people have found really good? Hi all, Starting to feel more human again after my first chemo last week so just having a read through trying to catch up & see how everyone else is doing. There is a bit to read through but sounds like the main thing for most is the fatigue. @LD2022 @Tanny I tried the cold cap (took paracetmols 30 mins before) as you said I didn't find it too bad at all after the first 10 minutes. I was nervous going on my own but I needn't have been. The nurse was with me chatting away most of the time, I didn't have time to get a book or anything out & the time flew by. For anyone that has had more than 1 cycle........ Did you feel the same side effects after each cycle or does it vary? Hugs & best wishes to those having chemo this week or unwell from the effects. Hey @MajesticTiger  Sorry you've had your start date put back, that must have thrown you a little but better that your wounds have healed first ♥️ It's interesting to hear the different cocktails everyone is having. Not sure how they decide but I will be having 6 x EC every 3 weeks. A few have said about an  injection as well but not sure what that is. Thank you for sharing your experience, it's made me pull my big girl pants up & try to be more positive! I haven't seen 'Motherland' might take a look at that. Appreciate the paracetamol tip I will do the same. Sorry to hear your bloods aren't playing ball, hopefully your results will come back ok & you'll be good to start treatment 🤞 i was at 1 hospital for surgery/1 for Oncologist in-between & a different 1 for chemo. @Tanny  Yes I am going to give the cold cap a go too, like you said worth trying! I've since been told by the hospital (Wakefield area) this afternoon that I can't due to covid, which is making me more anxious. It sounds more relaxed/nicer at your hospital. Hi @Jussie  Just thought I'd check in to see how you are doing & where you are at treatment wise. Hope you have had some help with your Lymphoedema & it is a little easier for you.  Sorry to hear your having to wait longer in-between appointments it tends to be the most stressful time. Have you had your results/oncotype score back yet? Sometimes people have had them over the phone. I am 4 weeks post op, saw consultant after 3 weeks (Tuesday last week) who told me thankfully that they had got clear margins this time & that I needed chemo because of my oncotype score. Hi hope everyone is doing well. Going for my blood/covid test Friday then start chemo at a different hospital on Monday. Finding it all a bit stressful right now bouncing between 3 different hospitals, is that the norm? Thanks @Shi for your reply. I was told up to now that I wouldn't need chemo, it seems a bit of a mine field of info to get your head round. I've gained a little bit of info from others but most of the advice you have given i've not heard so thank you it is a great help!  I seem to be a little behind everyone else so I hope that everyone who has already started their treatment is doing ok.
