Hi I start 5 days of radiotherapy next week. I will be staying away for the duration coming away for the weekend. I am feeling slightly scared as I don't really know what to expect. Up to  I have been feeling optomistic about my treatment and prognosis.    I coped with the surgery as I have had surgery before.  Maybe it is because I will be away from home and alone.  I said to one of the girls in the office that I was scared, she told be I had bigger b*lls than most of the men at work and that I have the strength to do this, which was nice to hear. Hi all I am feeling a bit upset today. I was at the doctors yesterday for a sore shoulder which has been on and off  for a few months. The doc said she suspected polymyalgia and would refer me for an x ray. When I told my husband he said that was rubbish as he was suspected of it and didn't have it and that it was a proper illness. I have been feeling very tired since my diagnosis and 2 surgeries and treatment, so after work I come home and have rest.   This has clearly upset him very much , he told me that something I didn't know I had and had been removed cant be affecting me still and that I was just milking it for all it was worth so I didnt have to do anything but sit down all day. I am feeling very alone, upset and unsupported and I am going for radiotherapy next week, fearing this could make my tiredness worse and not be able to show it. Mrs Hill ... View more

Hi I was on Letrozole for 2 months from the start of my diagnosis to the day they said that I had clear margins after a lumpectomy and a second surgery to remove a small precancerous area. The doctor switched me to Tamoxifen. The Letrozole made me really tired and was starting to affect my joints. So I thought tamoxifen might be a bit easier. 5 days in I feel really nauseous and have a very upset stomach. It was so bad yesterday I skipped my dose. I will speak to the oncologist tomorrow. Hi The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. I got diagnosed on 12th of August and had a wide local excision on the 25th. The surgeon did the sentinal node stuff through the same excision. I have had a pretty good recovery and went back to work on Tuesday, but have only done 2 days this week as I am a little tired. Just waiting to hear if they got clear margins or they need to go back in. I am a little concerned if they do need to do a second op will it be more painful as they are doing a procedure in an area that has already had some surgery  Hoping some one will be able to advise. HI all I found, what turned out to be a cyst in my right breast, which thankfully the doctor referred  me to the clinic for. They mamogrammed both and found what they considered was 90% certain a non suspicious lump which they biopsied.  I was quite relaxed about the results until the nurse said that lady that has just gone in was supposed to be seen after me, I suddenly thought this might not go well. They found a 11 mm hormone sensitive cancer, which is coming out next week, followed by radiotherapy and hormone tablets. It has been a whirlwind since, my brain is fried. I have been sorting out work, i am self employed so have a few clients to sort. I had some hair extensions for both of my daughters wedding, they got married within 6 weeks of each other, luckily I didn't have much time to worry about my results. I am quite upset about having them taken out today and my gel nails off on Saturday ready for my wide excision surgery I am hoping to work for a couple of clients during my recovery from home, but am worried if I will manage while having radiotherapy. Overall I am feeling ok about it at the moment, I have had to have some difficult conversations this week. I am quite worried about potential nerve damage after the surgery, I have been learning to play the guitar.
