I’ve already got a hairy chin 🤣 I thought it was due to the HRT I was on for 25 years! Was hoping to be rid of it after coming off HRT! This is all new to me. I’d never heard of lobular breast cancer before I just thought all breast cancer was the same. My consultant seems very nice. He recommended lumpectomy but I have always thought if I was ever in this position I would have a double mastectomy without reconstruction especially now as I’m older. Had I been younger I would have gone with lumpectomy probably. He was very understanding and said he wouldn’t be keen on doing it but if that is what I wanted he would do that. So I haven’t changed my mind on that score. Am nervous about MRI results but trying not to think about it too much. Hope it’s not to long until your lymph nodes are checked. The waiting takes a lot out of you doesn’t it. Take care x

Hi Sparkles66, I think your probably right about the appointment. Calmed down a bit now. Had my MRI this morning it was fine. Just a waiting game now. Hoping the time goes in quickly and at least I’ll know what my treatment will be. 😊 x

Hi Steph J, Thanks for responding to my post. Feeling a bit better this morning. My story started with my 3 year mammogram which this time showed something up. (Mobile Screening Unit) the following week I was recalled to the the breast screening clinic and had a further mammogram and then an ultrasound which showed 3 areas of concern. I then had 2 biopsies and saw the consultant the following week who told me I had lobular breast cancer and a fibro adenoma in my left breast and arranged for me to have an MRI. Because the nature of lobular breast cancer means you can have more than one area of it and it’s very difficult to see. My MRI is tomorrow. Hope you are well x

I have very fine hair and some hair loss at the front. I think it happened during my early menopause. I’m just wondering when I have chemo will this affect my hair re growth. Is there a chance that my hair won’t grow back at all because of this. I got my first hot flush my 36th birthday but didn’t notice the hair loss until a few years later. I don’t think it has got any worse in the thirty years since, but I am very self conscious of it.

I know how you feel. Have my MRI on Thursday and had an appointment with the doctor on Monday but got a phone call this morning cancelling until the following Monday. I’m feeling really low now and unable to do anything. And my imagination has gone into overdrive. I know I should keep busy and will try and pick myself up for tomorrow. Take care.
