Hi yes it was during the 3 months off I had progression, then again on Vinorelbine.  Really hoping for much more time on Eribulin as I’m finding it very doable.  Will prob get scans late June so making the most of feeling well. Hi, sorry I only just saw your messsge. I hate statistics and when I googled them 8 years ago I really shouldn’t still be here! I think the oncologist look at treatment options and make a guess. However they have no idea how long you will respond to a treatment , you have still got the IV chemo to try, there are many of those plus there are trials to get onto plus new meds coming out at different times. I had 8 months on taxol last year which decreased my liver mets. I had 18 cycles main side effect fatique and neuropathy but doable. Oncologist wanted me to take a break but as it was still working we can go back and revisit it later. Currently on IV eribulin again very doable. He has told me I may become chemo resistant at sime point soon. Hi, I was on Taxol last year successfully for 8 months. After I finished I think 18 cycles my oncologist said my body needed a break. I was on a 20% dose reduction for neuropathy. So I went onto just Letrezole for 3 months. I know some ladies in USA seem to stay on taxol until it stops working but the protocol here seems 18 cycles? Unfortunately during the 3 months of chemo I had significant progression. We could go back to taxol but he said after a break from it, the longer we leave returning to it the more likely bit will be to work again for me. So I’m on Eribulin IV. Hi, Well Vinorelbine didn’t work at all for me and scans showed progression in liver and skull.  So I am now on Eribluin and finished second cycle 2 weeks on and one off. So far have had minimal side effects. Lost my appetite on Vinorelbine so glad to have it back. It’s always hard when a treatment fails you so quickly. I hope you are going well on it. Hi, When I was on Cape the breathlessness was dreadful and my GO gave me a ventolin inhaler which I tended to need at the top of the stairs. ( I’ve never been asthmatic) It certainly helped. I too was worried it was a sign of lung mets or something but it wasn’t.  Take Care x Debs ... View more

Hiya, Ive had 2 infusions niw and feel very well. They give me ondansatron through the IV and also dexamethasone. I also have dexamethasone tablets for 3 days following. I’ve had no sickness or much tiredness. The dex is a steroid so can affect my sleep a bit and also my vision is a bit blurry however will take that over nausea/tiredness. Hi, sadly only managed 3 months on Vinorelbine as it was quite doable. My liver mets grew so going onto Eribulin this week. I’ve done taxol before so am used to loosing my hair. I would definitely get a wig in advance and keep it for if ever needed. The one I had was so much like my own hair even my Mom didn’t notice! Hope you get a long time from Vinorelbine.
