Hi, sorry I only just saw your messsge. I hate statistics and when I googled them 8 years ago I really shouldn’t still be here! I think the oncologist look at treatment options and make a guess. However they have no idea how long you will respond to a treatment , you have still got the IV chemo to try, there are many of those plus there are trials to get onto plus new meds coming out at different times. I had 8 months on taxol last year which decreased my liver mets. I had 18 cycles main side effect fatique and neuropathy but doable. Oncologist wanted me to take a break but as it was still working we can go back and revisit it later. Currently on IV eribulin again very doable. He has told me I may become chemo resistant at sime point soon. If and when I will see if any trials are available. I think you have a fair few treatments ahead of you … it ain’t over till it’s over !!! Take Care Live Debs xxx
