Sandra, I know - you feel like you are missing something - not that I want SE's but even my occy health said I should be getting SE!!! and she doesn't even work in oncology. My onc did say that there is a study at Chrisities where if you still having periods on tax they could offer rads on your ovaries!!! I think I might take a look at this. Would still need tax but at least periods would stop. I have had them throughout chemo and rads - thought I would at least get rid of them. vicky ... View more

Hi Ladies, Can I join?? I started taking tax in july. However it doesn't seem to be working as still having periods and very nasty ones too!!!. Had no menopausal symptoms at all and think I am going to need the extra jab to get it sorted out. Phoned for an appointment with my onc yesterday so hope to hear soon. Am worried as going back to work soon and not sure how I will cope with whatever they are going to give me extra!!! Vicky ... View more

I have to say I watched both parts of this program and although I do feel for Dawn losing her mum - did find in parts I was getting annoyed with her - even my hubby was getting cross with the over dramatisation. I know how result waiting can be difficult - We have all been there. also the recon - Now I have not needed this as had just lump removed but we got not a real reflection of what a true recon is - rather than a preventative one. I wish they had spent time going through the ladies having treatment and the real emotions the ladies with secondaries have to go through. on the funny side - I can't imagine having to put coffee up my bottom!!! ... thanks everyone, had 4th rad today so getting towards total of 19! they said pain in the scar could be the radiation affecting the nerve endings in the scar. Its not too bad - just swollen and very pink and hot. hoping the skin holds up to the end. anyone had boosters - are they any better or worse?? thanks again - don't know what I would do without you all!!! Can I join??? I had planning session yesterday and start rads next week - having 15 normal and 4 boosters!! What fun. Only finished chemo 2 weeks ago - 7 months worth. was DX oct 08 had lump removed and lots of chemo. I am anxious of rads are skin very sensitive and didn't like hickman and still not back to normal eventhough hickman removed. have got huge tub of cream, should I try to prep my booby before I start rads??? thanks for any adivce vickyxx ... what a difference to my experience. I phoned up to claim Employment support allowance. they were lovely. few weeks and got award through. it did mention in the letter about poss interviews. I work in benefits so know its a fickal system. however, my point is I have a job and am not in any fit state to do it at the moment. they need to focus more on the unemployed who are capable and not going through treatment of the most awful kind. will see if I stay on it longer if they invite me for an interview. I wonder if as I have claimed DLA that this affects whether they pull you in???? take care vicky ... View more
