Hi Delly It's Gr for Great but grrr is appropriate at present! I came across a news item about this lady in Witney and how she helps breast cancer ladies with nipple tattooing. I had looked at various other tattooist who all charged for this service. I was fine with that but this lady offered it for free which made me feel she was doing it out of kindness rather than £. I intended paying her and after resisting she said a donation to the charity she works with would be great. So I felt that I given something to say thank you. If anyone wants details let me know.

Hi Delly. Yes I am aware this is a common problem and I don't understand it either! I have now had a very good tattoo done by a lovely lady in Witney who runs a place doing cosmetic surgery like eyebrows and piercings etc. She works with Breast cancer patients and does not charge for her service for this. She does it purely as a service to help women. I had a long way to get to her but turned it into a mini break near Oxford. It didn't hurt either!

Hi just need some help. I had a new nipple done and its fine. But the lady at hospital who does the tattoo colour has not been successful as it keeps fading within weeks. She says I should have it done by a general tattooist who have stronger dyes. I am looking for a recommendation please. I am willing to travel. [Edited as per Forum terms and conditions]. Thank you! Yes venaflaxine and tamoxifen are OK together but venaflaxine cause profuse sweating so I had to stop them .

I had mastectomy in 2011 and almost immediately developed rheumatoid arthritis. I believe it was due to trauma of cancer. I suffer night bad sweats and got relief from venaflaxine for a while until they started making me sweat profusely in the day! I am now on gabapentin which seemed to help once I increased the dose but the extreme tiredness was so bad I had decrease the dose but still sleeping far too much and the sweats are back on this lower dose. I take arthritis drugs which also cause tiredness so not sure where to go from here. Some drugs inhibit tamoxifen or are not allowed with methotrexate so it is so hard to find something that works with both. Also antidepressants are difficult as I am limited. I was put on sertraline but now am told they inhibit tamoxifen. So its exhausting trying to find compatible drugs for both these conditions. Anyone ?

By the way I belong to a rheumy forum and it seems that nearly all of us who developed rheumatoid arthritis did so after a trauma. Mine was breast cancer but there are many other stories of people enduring all sorts of terrible ordeals and then getting RA. Interesting.

I have been on tamoxifen since 2011. I also have rheumatoid arthritis. I have been taking steroids for pain but this just increased my weight. I didn't know tamoxifen caused weight gain. I can't exercise much but try to eat more healthily but can't shift this stone. I have always been slim and this is depressing me. I guess I will have to eat even less. But am wondering if Letrozole would work better for me. Just rambling on here.

Yes venaflaxine worked great for night flushes but it caused me terrible day sweats! I was confused by this but on doing research this drug can actually cause severe sweating too. Strange eh?

Sorry to hear about your mental health condition but it seems to be under control. No I don't think you should rock the boat now. There are very few antidepressants which can be taken with tamoxifen without conflict. I am on another drug for a different condition and this also limits what I can take so I don't have much choice. I am going to try venaflaxine again which I took for hot sweats a while ago but which caused bad side effects. Hey ho its a constant battle and I also have to monitor the doctors who don't always get it right. I hope your treatment goes well too. Best wishes.

My gp put me on sertraline antidepressants and I had a nagging doubt about them being compatible with tamoxifen. My gp insisted they were fine. I checked it out with BCC on phone and whilst it was not categorical it was advised that taken these two together was not the best option as it can reduce the effect of tamoxifen. I have advised my gp accordingly.

Been on tamoxifen for 4 years now and battled with sweats day and night. First I took venaflaxin which worked great for night sweats but made me sweat profusely in the day. Now started gabapentin and on 400mg a day but not been much change as yet. Will increase dose to see if it helps. Being on steroids makes my weight go up so this will add to problem I guess. My cocktail of drugs amazes my friends and family!

I am on so many different drugs which all cause loss of hair so when I took my first alendronic acid I noticed with dismay that these also cause hair loss! My hair is pretty sparse already. I saw that this drug could be given annually by injection and asked my doc if this would be better. She said I could still get bad side effects and would have to wait a whole year for it to leave my body. Taking it weekly I would be able to change to another form if I felt they did not agree with me. Hey ho...this whole drug jumble is a constant worry. I just hope all the side effects are worth it and do truly help prevent recurrence of BC and help my RA. Being bald is just better than the alternative I guess!

Hi not been here for long time. Just been told I need hysterectomy due to tamoxifen and wonder if anyone had same prob. Had mastectomy two years back. Had so much surgery and thought I was free now but now this. Bit fed up... Would love to meet up with someone for chat ?
