Hi Everyone There is a fantastic volunteering opportunity available with Breast Cancer Care. We are currently recruiting for people to volunteer with our Someone like me service. Many people have found this service invaluable when they want to talk to someone who has been in a similar position as themselves. There are many different experiences and we try to represent as many of them as possible which is why we are currently recruiting. Please have a look at the information on our recruitment page. Breast Cancer Care are launching a new monthly meet up service in Coventry for anyone diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. As well as an opportunity to meet up with others with a similar diagnosis it's an opportunity to hear from guest speakers and gain information and support. The monthly meetings will run on the second Thursday of every month from 11am. One month we will hold a short meeting 11am-1pm which is a catch up meeting. On alternate months we will run a longer session 11am-3pm with a guest speaker. Lunch is provided at these longer sessions. We will be launching the service with an Information Day on the 13 May 2016. It's completely free to attend and there's no obligation to come along every month. Hello Cavills, I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that Breast Cancer Care run something called Living with Secondary Breast Cancer in Sheffield. It's an opportunity to come along and meet up with other women with a secondary diagnosis and find information and support. Sessions usually take place monthly, and you can attend as few or as many as you like; and refreshments are provided, including lunch at longer daytime sessions. All sessions are facilitated by a counsellor and every other month you’ll hear from a guest speaker who is an expert in their field, for example, a Clinical Nurse Specialist or a Benefits Adviser. Questions and discussions are welcome and we’ll also let you know about additional sources of support that may be available locally. There are often opportunities for participating in clinical trials for people diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. We understand how much information there is to absorb which is why we have developed some information sessions to be included in the March Living with Secondary Breast Cancer monthly meetings in Liverpool and Manchester.

What’s involved when participating in a trial?
Why/when it may be suggested
