Hi everyone, I had a LD reconstruction about 6 years ago and apart from the odd twinge now and then it has been fine. However recently it feels as if I have pulled a muscle. It does not hurt all the time but when I breathe in, twist my body or raise my arm it causes pain in the breast itself. I can't remember doing anything but it feels like a pulled muscle and is very uncomfortable. I have had it now for over a week and it is not getting easier. Anyone else experienced a similar pain? I worry for England so any pain associated with my real breast and the reconstructed one cause me anxiety and my thoughts race ahead to everything happening all over again. Hi everyone I am so happy because I have just had my 5 year check and mamo and all is clear:) I cannot believe it has been 5 years and I am so happy that the rollercoaster has reached its five year milestone . What happens now? I know Tamoxifen finishes but what about mamos? I got a bit freaked out when they said we go back on th ethree year cycle and being the neurotic sort I kept thinking that waiting three years for a mamo is so long what if....you know the scenario ...what is something appears and it is not picked up for three years. Sorry to be stupid but although I am so happy that I have reached the 5 year goal I am also a little nervous of being out in the wide world again without my yearly checks.Anyone else felt like this? Hi everyone I had an LD reconstruction a couple of years ago and since the beginning I have this noticeable area on th etop of the breast which looks like a water bed and ridged. My surgeon said that they may replace the implant with a different type. Anyone else had this ripppling effect. ... View more

Hi everyone, Has anyone had cervical polyps while on Tamoxifen. I have been on Tamoxifen for nearly four years now and in a recent smear test they said Ihad cervical polyps and I have been referred to gynaecology. Anyone else had this problem - what happens now? Hi everyone I had a mastectomy in 2006 and anc. Since then I have had a breast reconstruction - Oct 2007. Since then all ok but in the past few weeks the arm and arm pit where I had anc has become very sore - not swollen just uncomfortable and sore. Anyone know what this is or what can cause it. My arm is always stiffer on the mastectomy side but it is now feeling tight and sore. Any advice appreciated. ... View more

Hi everyone I had an LD reconstruction in October 2007 and the port they used to inflate the implant was left in. I was asked if I wanted to have it taken out or left in and I chose at the time to have it left in. It is no problem most of the time but when I wear a proper bra as opposed to a crop top it gets really sore. I still have the option of having it removed but was wondering if anyone on the forum has any experience of this. Does the port removal leave another scar and do you have a general or local? When I was diagnosed with breast cancer and was asked do you have any relatives with breast cancer I said no because I didn't. Since then within the space of two years I have had first cousins diagnosed with breast cancer and this wek my 85 year old mother has been diagnosed. How unusual is it for an 85 year old to be diagnosed with BC? I am now very concerned for my 20 year old daughter. I have been referred to the family history clinic - can anyone tell me what happens and will my daughter be offered checks? Any help appreciated. ... View more
