Thank you for your replies ...i am 'drugged' up to the eyeballs at the moment with a new pain i got at lunchtime..all down the left side of back..i was on the loo when i heard something 'crack'..the pain is excruciating..GP told me to dial 999 anytime if it gets any worse... Hi ladies...well we went to the Marsden as planned ..but i did not see the proff so i felt short changed! I saw a young lady doctor that took everything down in writing about me and she looked at my left leg..which i am suddenly in great pain with..then this consultant came in...rather surly and brusque..and he tells me that i am a very sick woman..( i went all this way to hear that) and he didn't think i would benefit from doing the travelling to London...he said the leg is quite possibly cancer..and probably in my brain...and the red across my wound site....it is now half way across the other breast..that is all cancer too! So he suggested the Xeloda after one go was not working ..for me..and he suggested a CT scan and a bone scan..and pallitive pain control.. So after all that...we got a taxi to Harrods and i got into a wheelchair..and off we whizzed around the store. I t was very disappointing..so after a take away as we where so tired...and some whiskey ..the next day we went to Oxford St..and enjoyed that more! I now have a large swelling in the left hand side of my back..which is agonizing..and this morning my other knee is 'tweaking away' so i must be falling apart....i am not sure if i want to have the scans...it will only be more bad news..and i am going down the Holistic route next week... Hi Joan and Beryl and all you other fantastic ladies...xx I am off to the Marsden next Monday..but i have not been to good for the last few days..temp up and down..otherwise the se's have been bearable so far! But only at the beginning..yet.. Off to the doctors later..with swollen glands...and what did i do this morning..put the dogs steriod eye drops in MY eyes instead of my own drops ...i had to ring the vets...and she said 'have you barked yet' lol so i am having to wash my eyes out too! My vet who owns the practise knows us VERY well because we where always there...and my dog loves him...so he has agreed to take my little dog for his own when the time is right...that is such a relief for me..as i have worried SO much....OH still not dx yet..they want to take the spleen out whole to look at it..as there are shadows on it...but i want him to have a PET scan first! It is a big op and its only exploretery... You are all getting on with your lives now? but life still has it's ups and downs...not long till you have you 'get together' In Liverpool there is a 'secondaries meeting' next month they do lunch ...give advice plus loads more...and i will get to actually meet some of these ladies too! Gosh i always just pick them up with my fingers too! I wasn't told any different and last night after my first FULL week my finger tips are quite bright red and shiney! Morning ladies ..i have not forgotten you..i never will! xx I change hospitals soon and go down to London early next month....i now wish i had asked to go earlier this year..then i might now be in a better position.. as you know i have lung mets..but it now seems i have skin mets? the redness has spread..and now a reacurrence on mx site...my hospital have been dreadful and if i had the energy i would take it further...i started an indefinate course of Xeloda..still waiting for the se's to kick in... Last night i noticed the mx is a lot worse and the scar line has 2 lumps and going black ..it sounds like necrosis ..so it will have to be cut out...yikes! i have't got enough skin there...but another lady said they are taking the skin off her back....!!! OH still does not know what is wrong with him..he has had every test..scan going now...we go next week and are hoping we get some news so he can start treatment! Hi Squeakymouse...my treatment has been hell too! I cannot believe what my Onc has written about me to GP..only by chance have i read the the letter...the Onc has told a load of 'untruths' about me to the hospital i am now going to for a second opinion...i had difficulty in believing it was ME she was talking about...!! It would take to long to detail all the C**p that has gone on since my diagnosis...but i will say...once you go against the 'medical' proffession...its's at your PERIL! Dulcie xxxx ... View more
